Right, your mother. Not you. Anyone but you. Isn't that how Christmas is celebrated with this one called Santa coming to the party on Jesus birthday?

My point is, Santa gets the most attention on Jesus birthday. Some children don't even know who's birth is it....
Keisha....absolutely
Ethan?? Starlight rolls eyes.
Beth ....ridiculous . she has no idea
Academy...But it's being told Santa does
Geoff ....cute
Donna....But it is being celebrated at that time
Hello.....Right and so should Jesus
Bad tim....The world celebrates it then.
Drea.....Is teachable and very bright
Icedfant.....Who will stand up for Jesus? Someone has to be willing to run into the wind for Jesus.
Princess......Try wearing shoes with the toes in next time
Buttercup.....I wish
Courtney....you don't get the point
Batgirl.....I wish
Torihum.....YOU GOT IT....YOU GOT IT...

Christians celebrate the coming of God as man on December 25th. This is called Christmas Christ-mass. Santa is a based on the story of St Nicholas who was a bishop in the fourth century. Santa Claus is derived from the dutch dialect of his name. About 500 years later someone wrote a biography of St Nicholas. He is said to have saved three girls from prostitution by throwing bags of money as a dowry into their windows at night. The feast day for St Nicholas is 6th Dec and in some parts of Europe that is the day on which presents are given.

My mother would look at me like I'm a nut if I recognized her on my birthday. She doesn't even like her own recognized.
As far as Christmas goes, your religion chose a time of year around other pagan holidays to celebrate the birth of one who wasn't even born at this time of year. If you don't like Santa or the secular aspects of the holiday then by all means don't celebrate it, but it's not your place to say others can't.

Even more ironic, what's the one thing that is politically incorrect to say publicly at Christmastime? Yep, "Merry Christmas", and you risk a lawsuit if you publicly display a nativity scene. You 're born in a stable stall, and nailed to a tree and this is the thanks you get? Hardly seems fair, does it? Well, being a savior is not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination...but He did it anyway....for all of us!
Merry Christmas

i think the person having the birthday should be recognized more by the parents. It was the parents that wanted to have a child and by that child being born the parents were able to satisfy their instinctual need to reproduce and have a void in their life filled. The child I'm pretty sure before conception doesn't come to the future parents and say can you please give birth to me.As far as we know without life we don't exist so if you don't exist then you wouldn't want to be born.if it was the child's desire to be born then it would be different but since they have no say in the matter they shouldn't be expected to be overjoyed and give eternal thanks for something that they did not ask for.
That's just my opinion

Jesus' birthday isn't in December, its in the Spring. So yes... who should be recognized? The Pagan God Mithra, Dionysus, Adonis, Hercules, among others. Your Jesus is crashing the party.
And Santa has nothing to do with religion.

Well I don't know about your mother, but mine liked to use my birthday to show me that she is happy to have me. My father felt the same way. You see, they spent the rest of the year making me behave and teaching me right from wrong. On my birthday I got to see a different side of their love for me. It made me feel special. I know I would feel special if the whole world celebrated my birthday.

Research the story of St. Nick. It's a seperate story, one that is "pc" and "safe"....like using the word "holiday" instead of christmas.
Go on youtube and look for "a christmas story". Larry the cable guy has a video posted called, "a pc winter holiday". You'll get a kick out of it.

When I celebrate someone's birthday, I'm celebrating the fact that they exist. Not the ones who created/raised them.
Also, I don't think your comparison is the best one. I see the point you're trying to make, but I think you missed the mark.

Our birthday is a recognition of the day we were brought into the world. I see nothing wrong with that. I don't think Jesus does either, (my personal opinion.)
