Here on Yahoo I have Brothers/Sisters that I really do love.I have never meet them in person. Its the same way when meeting another Christian for the first time. You can actually feel the presence of God as you greet them. Its as if there is a fountain that brings forth love.It has nothing to do with their looks or race. Its not a love that is motivated by lust or desire.
NOTE: I have not always been a Christian and it wasn't till I became a Christian that I experianced this.SO WHAT IS IT?
PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE YOU ANSWER THIS>THANKS

Rainbow: Dear Sister I am aware that we are called to love everyone.I avail myself of this grace about every day now.I believe in speaking the truth without fear of man here on Q&A's. About everyday I recieve emails that consist of everything from threats to pornagraphy. One person went so far as to post on their blog that they were going to kill me.I do not have one person blocked and my 360 is open to all, I won't hide my candle under a basket. And I can honestly say that I love everyone of them, all because of Jesus.I could not do that without Him, of this I am certain.I love you to Sister.

For those of you that think I am suggesting that you can't love someone unless your a Christian, I apologize. What I am speaking of here is something that takes place in a Christian. The reason being, I never experianced this till I became a Christian.

(((Don,)))
So true! I'll never forget a family that I noticed one time while we were eating. I told my husband, "That guy *really* loves the Lord." His face was shining--it reminded me of Moses and the veil.
So, as they were leaving they walked past us, I greeted them and we started talking. Sure enough, they were Christians. As we visited, I noticed he was carrying his Bible.
The love for the Lord was all over him. It was beautiful to see.
I loved them--but especially him--as soon as I saw him. Not because I lusted after him. No, it was the presence of the Lord. You know, it's funny... I don't remember his or her name, what they looked like, or where they went to church. I only remember the beauty of the Lord that was on him.
Don, it's been probably 12 years since this experience--but I still think of him and his family and pray for them! When you have a love for the Lord like he had--I have no doubt he's still working for the Lord. :-) A love like that will not die.
My sweet husband tells stories of when they were in the desert and it was "illegal" to worship back in 1981 in Saudi. People would walk up to him and ask, "You're a Christian aren't you?" Then they would ask where worship would be held. He often wondered why they picked him to ask. So finally he questioned someone. They said they just "knew".
When a Christian shares that wonderful Holy Spirit Spiritual connection with their spouse--as well as the blessings of a wonderful marriage--nothing in the world is more beautiful! :-) Why? The Spiritual oneness that the Lord gives us is much deeper than a physical oneness could ever be... That is hard to explain to someone who is of the world though...
"And by their fruits you shall know them." Good fruit is easy to love! ;-)
******************Addition********************
This is one reason many Christians try to share Jesus with all who don't know Him. We already love the people of the world with the love of the Lord--but we long for the Spiritual bond with them as well.

Hi my brother,
Being born again we are born into the Family of God, and since God is love, He has poured out His love into our hearts as well. He is the everlasting fountain we can come to every day to get our hearts filled again and again.
He is the Healer of wounded hearts, and because He has and is making us whole, we long for others to be made whole as well; that's why our love and compassion overflows to others.
1John 3:1 "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! "
With tears of joy and gratitude,
Your sister Rose

Amen my brother Don.
This is truly beyond thought and brain. I believe it has everything to do with our being Begotten of God. We have the same Life of God in our spirits. This transcends all the natural things and all the human concepts, considerations and limitations. I tell you, right here in this forum I have been so blessed to meet my brothers and sisters. Sometimes being so touched by what they have to share that I am moved to tears. Such an overwhelming love wells up in my being for these ones who I only know as a simple name. This is just such proof that God is real and what He is doing in His body
is real.
I love these verses.
Romans 5:5
And hope does not put us to shame because the Love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to US... Hallelujah!
This God Who is the embodiment of Love indwells us. It was this love that motivated God to act on our behalf. To not leave us where we were, enslaved by the usurping satan. Oh Brother..He reached you.. He reached me.. He reached all the dear brothers and sisters and still reaches out to those who are still far off!
Thank You Father!
Romans 12:10
Love one another warmly in brotherly love; take the lead to show honor one to another.
I love You Brother Don.!
Your sister in Christ

I believe it's the love of God that is poured out in our heart by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. When we realise how much God loves us by sending His Son to die for us while we were yet sinners, we are transformed by His love. We slowly learn to accept ourselves the way God accepted us, and we are able to accept others too.
Before I was a Christian, I found it hard to love people who are hard to love, which includes myself. I would tend to think poorly of myself, and was sometimes self-righteous, without realising it.
Now that I'm a Christian, I can't say I'm perfect because I'm not, as the Lord is still working on me, refining my character and renewing my mind through His word. For He who has begun a good work in me will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
I love quoting Scriptures because it's so part of my being now. It's because of His grace. Paul prayed that our love may abound still more and more in knowledge and discernment. (Philippians 1:9) The word "love" here is "agape" or self-sacrificial love of God - the highest form of love.
I believe we need wisdom or discernment to love someone too. For example, there are times we need to speak the truth in love so that we can build up one another as a church. (Ephesians 4:15) Sometimes, love is painful, for faithful are the wounds of a friend. (Proverbs 27:6) Nevertheless, when we know what is the width, length, depth and height of the love of Christ, we will be filled with all the fullness of God, and we will be rooted and grounded in love. We will be secure in His love, and will be able to bear with one another in love, and keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 3-4). God bless you, brother Don.

This is agape -- the love that God shows us and we (hopefully) show each other. You are probably more familiar with philos -- platonic human love (and then there is eros, which I'm sure you can figure out). We as humans have the choice in which sphere of love we operate, with agape being the best of course. It was so nice to read your question!

Theologically speaking YES. I explain what I mean: in order for us to love God we must be indwelt with the Holy Spirit. In order for us to even comprehend the will of the Spirit of God in our lives (i.e. give glory to God), the same Holy Spirit must live in us. Jesus in John 14:16-17 says: "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. " Now, the Holy Spirit comes dwelling in us when we are "born again" (see John 3:3) but we don't become "born again" i.e. born from above, unless the Spirit of God does a work of regeneration in our soul and exchanges our heart of stone into a heart of flesh able to love (see Ezekiel 11 and Ezekiel 36). This new heart will be able to repent AND love God too. We literally become a NEW CREATION, able to love God and our brothers. Therefore, it is the work of the Holy Spirit to regenerate our soul and to give us the conviction to change (repentance = metanoia in Greek).

And the greatest gift of all is Love ;0)
(((Don)))
Hugs
Just recently, I was told by several members of our church, one with the gift of discernment and one with the gift of prophecy...that one of my gifts is love~
I hear that and think about how years ago I was so angry, before I knew Christ, how I would want to "fight" anyone, I had no love for anyone, especially not myself.
It is absolutely amazing how the Lord changes us!! Our God is an Awesome God~ Hallelujah

Love comes from within and is not limited to those that are children of God, no matter what the denomination may be. It is within my nature and personality to love unconditionally, to except people as they are, individuals, each with their own unique makeup.
