I am 68 years old and do not use either, but I have 9 children and 19 grandchildren. I would say, with no hesitation, that alcohol has caused much more damage than marijuana in the people and families I have observed. I know some of my children that use marijuana and the biggest problem is the fact it is illegal and could result in arrest or loss of job. Alcohol seems more likely to lead to violence, not to mention the problem of driving while drunk and endangering others.

The damage done to the brain are both equally damaging. However, Alcohol is more damaging to the liver than it is the brain. Once brain cells are damaged, they do not repair themselves or multiply as other cells in the body do. The brain is the only one that cannot reconstruct its cells. Once brain cells are lost, they are gone forever.
Ok people, the question is which does more damage to the brain, not which causes more damage in different ways, or the effects of each. If they are both consumed in the same amount, not if this or if that. It is a simple question stop putting more to it than it is.

It is proven after a long time use of Marijuana that your IQ goes down. Marijuana can also cause anxiety, social anxiety. Alcohol is a depressant, however it does not damage your brain as quick as Marijuana can. So, the choice here is Marijuana is more damaging to the brain.

Alcohol is for sure because its so easy to obtain, you don't see many dope related deaths. Marijuana dose have its problems so don't take it to lightly because it is an addictive drug. I have seen many a foe detoxing of cannabis. Alcohol is classed as a "Kosher " drug so people turn blind eyes to it and with the 24 hour drinking law i think that's a bit much. With it being Xmas as well we need to think about the harm it can do to others..... Take care with them both

I think Marijuana is more damaging to the brain, although i never tried it. Alcohol can be pretty bad too, but on the other hand drinking alcohol isn't illegal, while marijuana is. I don't think the worser thing would be legalized in most countries

Alcohol is the number one drug of abuse and the number one drug seen in ER admissions. It causes auto accidents and violent behavior. Long-term alcohol abuse results in behaviour disturbances, ulcers, liver and pancreatic diseases, and nerve and brain damage.
Marijuana is not physically addicting, but can result in a psychological dependence. The tars in cannabis are suspected to be carcinogins, much like the tars in tobacco. It is a mild hallucinogen that can distort reality and cause neuro-motor disturbances which can result in accidents. Some people experience depression or even mania under its influence.
Both drugs are bad for you so stay away from both of them.

Marijuana improves brain function in people who are deprived of certain chemicals responsible for feelings of well-being. It's harmless.
Alcohol can cause brain death.
Most of the negative answers about marijuana are from americans, and there's a reason for that.

the legal one, by far, is worse for the body and mind.
And causes infinetly more deaths, destruction, violence, loss.
Our government has decided they can make more money by keeping alcohol legal(it makes more prosecutable crimes happen, not to mention the unseen, yet obvious "support" from the alcohol industry) and keeping marijuana illeagal ( so probation can be mandated upon otherwise law abiding citezens, as most marijuana users arent involved with violent crimes, rape, thrillseeking offences or thefts, etc.)
