Yes, the whole city and rural areas are open from the beginning of the game (but not in the downloadable demo). The game world is extremely complex, with many ramps and short-cuts to be found, even after extended play.

The game is nearly identical between the 360 and PS3; however, there are slightly higher fidelity graphics on the PS3 version due to a filter available in the hardware that's not on the 360. This difference is very minor. The online features of the PS3 version are also slightly more smooth because it doesn't involve using the Microsoft dashboard 'blades'. It is also available to play online on the PS3 without paying extra for the gold Microsoft Live service that is necessary on the 360. In all other ways, the versions are identical.

Burnout 3: Takedown isn't loose-roaming, and there isn't any customization different than paint, although that is great racing interest to blow stuff up. in reality, that interest is all approximately blowing stuff up. I never even race once I play that interest. never performed Carbon nonetheless, so i'm not able to declare something on that, yet Takedown is what you desire in case you desire to blow stuff up.
