If you have an allergy, is it guaranteed that you will have it for the rest of your life? Who had an allergy that is now gone? How does it go away?

The belief that one grows out of an allergy is a farce. What actually happens is that the original symptoms go away but the allergy is still affecting the physical body in a different way. For example a young boy I know had a dairy allergy that caused him to experience difficulty breathing. He kept eating dairy foods and eventually he stopped having breathing problems but developed ADHD instead.

An allergy gives us a particular response for us to pay attention. If we keep ignoring the symptoms our body is very clever and devises new ways to show us something is amiss.

Unfortunately we don't read our physical signs very well and then tend to just take medication to cover up symptoms instead of dealing with the original problem and eliminating the cause.

If you have one as a child sometimes you grow out of it, but if you develop it as an adult you will most likely have it for the rest of your life. You could always ask your family physician about getting allergy shots. They are not always 100% effective but it is worth a try.

they can go away with treatment. or you can just grow out of an allergy. i had to get weekly shots to help control my allergies because i have chronic allergies. my allergies will always be there but not as bad. it goes away by your body finally builds an immunity to the allergy.

It's not something that happens often. But I have a friend who was allergic to chocolate, then the allergy went away. Unfortunately, it returned.
