I would say no if it is a legal licensed shooting range but to be on the safe side I would recommend checking with you local law enforcement agency.

Private range would require a license to carry. You can go as a guest accompanied by someone with a license. Indoor pay ranges will let you shoot with no license but they usually require you to shoot jacketed ammo. I doubt they make this for shotguns. At least I have never seen any. Those are some rules in MA

A shotgun in a shooting range? doesn't make much sense, but no, you shouldn't need a license. Just check on your local state laws for transporting the weapon.

It will depend on the state and location your in. In Oklahoma, if you shoot on a range that is state owned and usually in the public hunting areas, yes you need a license. Their logic, (flawed as it may be) is that if you are on public hunting grounds, even if only shooting targets, you must have a hunting license. Why who's to say your not really laying in wait for a squirrel...
No, joking aside, it is the state law.

It's perfectly reasonable to shoot a shotgun at a range. Many people use them for hunting using slugs. They need sighted in too. No license should be needed. Always check regs about transportation. In WI it is illegal to transport a firearm in a vehicle unless it is unloaded and in a carring case.

The only range I've ever heard of that allowed shotguns was one for trap and skeet shooting.

If you have to pay to shoot at the range is should be o.k. unless the range itself prohibits it. Some ranges are picky, they only allow certain types of shotgun ammunition to be used so call them before you go.
