I just got neuropsych testing and am expecting a diagnosis of ADHD. In any case, I feel that I'm much less effective than I'd like to be.

I know a lot of the time kids with ADD receive services that help them develop "systems" at home and at school so they function as efficiently as possible. As an adult, how can I get support? I don't really have the money to pay a life coach to help me, so I'm looking for tips and online resources. Thanks.

Check out the books "Driven to Distraction" and also "Delivered from Distraction". These are two awesome books with all kinds of life style tips for managing with ADHD.

Also you can check out CHADD - Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder - they have lots of information and tips.

First of all just ignore the comment that ADD isn't real! That's so untrue. I have to agree with the first comment, do a lot of reading about this illness. People with ADD and ADHD can still lead productive lives daily without anyone even knowing. It's a serious illness. My son has ADHD and is on medication for this, granted it's a personal choice for the meds, but it's well worth it for his behavior and school. He is able to lead a normal life as a child and not be looked apon as "different". Best of luck to you hon!

it's a fake diagnosis that doctors use to say there is something wrong with you. in real life there is nothing wrong with you. America is the only country in the world that seems to think ADD is real. I've notice in kids if the kid is causing problems they say oh he's or she's got ADD. If you are doing something you like then you don't have a problem paying attention do you? Think about it.
