I am 6 foot and weigh 230 lbs. I am not fat. I don't have a gut but I have a big build even though I don't exercise much.

I did a test where I weighed more than people who were taller and more obese than I am but I still weigh more.

If someone is the same height or size as me, I always weigh more.

I am puzzled. Would it be because of bone mass or muscle? If it is muscle, I don't exercise much.

You can BS yourself all you want, but the plain fact is that you are overweight. You can call yourself big boned, but at 6 ft. that would only account for about 5 pounds. The real answer is a measurement of body fat. You can use the BMI (Body Mass Index) which is an approximation of body fat to body mass. The chart says that you have a BMI of 31.2 which translates to obese. Overweight is 25.0 to 29.9. You can go to whomever you want, they will all tell you the same thing. To give the benefit to you there are people with your height and weight that are not considered overweight. These are usually professional athletes. The description that you used didn't lead me to that conclusion. Lack of a gut just means that you hide it well. Take some advice, you need to loose 47 pounds to be classified as normal.pp

Muscle is heavier than fat. The best way to find out if you are " over weight" is to get a percentage of your body fat.
