About a month ago I noticed my grass was crawling with millions of tiny black bugs. At most, twice the size of a regular size flea. They are mostly round & seam to avoid humans at all costs. They do not jump they just scurry.
Today I came home from the store to find my brick home (only 3 years old) covered in these bugs. They were mostly on my garage door, sidewalk, windows & the wood that is where my roof meets my walls. They really liked the corners where the wood is split just a big. I imagine the nested in there. BTW, there were MILLIONS of these things. I went out & sprayed for a good 30 minutes & didn't even make a dent.
We live in Central Texas. It was very cold and wet for the last week or so and it warmed up about 25-30 degrees today. I imagine the warm weather drew them out.
These bugs look a lot like ity bity cockroaches except mostly rounded. Their back ends are slightly wider then their fronts. They are mostly solid black,
They are not springtails, they are roundish.
