Perhaps the opposition to gay marriage is because it won't be fruitful and bare children. I don't see how that's a whole lot different than giving praise to God through prayer, do you? Both activities are unlikely to yield results --- in fact, the gay marriage may be the more productively sensible of the two.

Your notion that 'sin' hurts no one but the 'sinner' is a tragic mistake. We are what we behold. If we behold, abomination then we are more likely to eventually think of it a not that bad. Yes, we have the freedom, but Not the right, to transgress the Law of God (the ten commandments). We also do not have the right to be or to preform an abomination. God will never 'revoke' our free will, we will always have the choice to obey God or not to obey Him. Only those that Obey Him get to go to heaven! If You do not keep/do His commandments then you do not get to go to heaven! Ex 20:3-17, pay special attention to 8-11 as this is the only commandment that tells us who our creator is, it is also the seal of God, as opposed to the mark of the beast. Vs. 11 is the seal: (a seal has 3 parts: the name, the title, and the territory) "For in six days the Lord (name) made (creator) the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is (territory), and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." (this is also the ONLY DAY that God made HOLY!). Sunday was made 'holy' by the Catholic church at the council of Trent in AD 336, there is NO Biblical evidence for sunday sacredness, The Catholic Encyclopedia even says so!

I really don't think you are asking a question here, but I will try and answer. First of all homosexuals have every right to "choose" to sin. Christians don't like that they choose this, but we can't take away their right to sin. Again if we told people they couldn't work on Sundays we would be taking away their right to sin. As for Marriage Christians are not taking away their "God given" right to marriage, because same sex marriage wasn't a God given right. A marriage union by Christian belief, can only be done between a male and a female because it was ordained by God that way. By the way all laws, by your reasoning are taking away free will, and I don't believe you would say that all laws are bad and I don't think a Christian would say that.

Get out of my bed, fundies!! >=O The simple truth of the matter is that there is absolutely no logical argument as to why homosexuals should not be allowed to marry. Love, in fact, knows no gender, right? ╔═════════════════════════════════════ ║Those who regard a freedom from the chains of either religion ║or the false moralities of sex as debauched are doing naught ║but corrupting their minds with foolishness. ║ ║So cast ignorance into the hells of creed and learn of the ║world with me. Knowledge has many gifts, one such being ║a better way of life. ╚═════════════════════════════════════

The problem, for Judeo-Christian-Islamic believers,
is with characterizing these relationships as 'marriages'.
Marriage has religious overtones for the raising of children.
That is separate from the legal aspects of partnerships.
What most gay couples seem to want is called a civil union.

Just because God gave man free will to choose to sin doesn't mean they SHOULD sin. Homosexuality is clearly outlined as a sin in the Bible. Yes, one has the "free will" to choose to be gay, but that doesn't mean God is ok with it.

Good questions. I do not feel that I have a right to force another. Neither do I think that another has a right to force His views on others. (e.g. homosexuality being taught in school, or forced on the boy scouts) The Sabbath of YHVH is the Seventh day. salvation is the result of choosing to become the "bride of the Messiah" which means taking YHVH's name (not in vain) and following His rules. Believers followed His rules for 300 years after His death, until the "Christian" church outlawed it.

I think many people don't care about civil unions, and they assume that gays want a religious marriage(like in a church) and that is what get people upset.
But yes, they're given the choice to sin...and quite frankly, I don't care if you sin or not. It's not my life so I should have no say in it.

Honey, before I ever opened a bible I thought same gender sexual relations were disgusting.
That sort of ends that debate.
