There is no healthy way to lose 10 pounds in one week. The most you should ever lose is 2 to 3 pounds per week. You can do that by cutting calories and eating smaller portions.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

it's impossible to lose ten pounds in a week. well unless you stop eating or eat like 400 calories a day and go to the gym everyday for like 3 hours. good luck with that. you should eat 300 calories less than you normally do, exercise at least 30 min 3-5 times a week and then you should lose 1-2 pounds a week which is the HEALTHY limit

Realistically you can only lose two pounds of body fat per week. If you lose anything else it will be muscle and water. Muscle actually causes a higher metabolism (among other things) so you don't want to lose that.
Just lose the 2 pounds (and it will take some effort) and then look for a website that will tell you how to dress 10 pounds lighter while you try to lose the remaining 8 pounds.

Do the math... 10 pounds in 7 days is 1.43 pounds per day.... You think it's reasonable to lose 1.43 pounds of fat every day?
Well, if you have any chance of doing it, you have to burn 5,000 calories each day more than you take in.
Let's assume you can survive by taking in 1,000 calories per day (that's extremely low). So that means you have to burn 6000 calories to get a 5,000 calorie caloric deficit.
Let's assume you burn 2500 calories a day at rest. So, now you need to find a way to burn 3500 more calories.
Using 100 calories an hour as your round number base metabolic rate, you will need to work out really hard for 8 hours a day, every day, to add another 400 calories an hour to your base metabolic rate. See what I mean?
That would be about 45 minutes of vigorous exercise or an hour of moderate exercise.
So, here's what you do:
Get up in the morning at 5am.
Eat 200 calories of egg whites and 50 calories of oatmeal.
Go work out for two hours HARD. Run, sweat, etc. - take a break every 1/2 hour for 5 minutes, drink lots of water and calorie free powerade.
Take an hour break and stretch - eat 200 calories of egg whites and 50 calories of oatmeal, and take a good multivitamin like Men's Formula from the Vitamin Shoppe.
Work out again for two hours as noted above.
Take an hour break and stretch, and eat another 200 calories of egg whites and 50 calories of oatmeal.
Work out again for another 2 hours as noted above.
Another hour break and 200 calories of egg whites and 50 calories of oatmeal.
Work out again for another 2 hours as noted above.
Relax. Meditate and focus your mind on your goal. Tell yourself that you will not stary from your path, that your body hates fat, and you will lose 10 pounds. Drink a lot of water.
Wake up and repeat day 1 on days 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
You will most likely not be able to keep up that pace. But that's the only way I could figure you could lose 10 pounds in 7 days. And you might not even make it....

I agree with the RN...however, if you are very overweight - there is a chance you can lose more. When I first started losing weight, I lost 8 lbs the first week. drink a lot of water, watch your calories, eat a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat...you need fat to lose fat incidently...and make sure you're eating carbs if you're working out. If you're not very overweight - you probably won't lost more than 3 lbs..and if you don't eat enough - your body will go into starvation mode and hang onto the weight.

No - that's not healthy! Don't even try it! Just start exercising and eating right - follow the food pyramid and count calories and fats! Limit your fats to only the good fats (avocados, nuts, etc.) 10 lbs in 7 days is just not a wise attempt - it'll cost you!
BTW - as far as the Hollywood Diet - follow the link below and youll see that it too will cause more harm than good - actually SLOWS down your metabolism and causes muscle loss!

a serious case of food poisoning could cause you to lose 15 lbs in a week easy. Depends on how big you are. If you're 350 lbs and eat nothing but salad and walk on the treadmill this week, you can do it easy. If you're 125, not likely.
