The low self-esteem probably, that way you can them help build themselves up, but with the arrogant type, it's extremely hard to get them to look past their selfishness.

Hard one. I am really attracted to men with confidence, but if they are rude and disrespectful, it is a huge turn off. I guess choosing the lesser of 2 evils, I would choose the one who respects other. I give everyone respect unless they show me they do not deserve it. I get made fun of sometimes for saying yes ma'am to the young girl at the counter at Taco bell, but she gets my respect just like everyone else. I could deal with low self esteem as annoying as it can be, there is a reason for some people to have it. There is no reason to be an ******.

Oh no no no...your definitions are off. Please understand, ppl with high self esteem should also respect others - IMO, having genuine self esteem means recognizing EVERYBODY's needs, and respecting them all. Someone who does not respect others sounds like an arrogant a$$, not a person with high self esteem; please do not confuse arrogance with true self esteem. I would not want to be with a person who does not respect others because, hello, this person will not respect YOU - you will just be another satellite in their orbit. Now, a person w low self esteem can also be a problem - if in fact you are truly looking at someone with low self esteem, and not someone who is merely shy about asserting him or herself. Ppl w low self esteem can often be incredibly needy, constantly needing assurance that you care, or that they are desirable, etc etc - so in an ironic way, they can be just as demanding as the arrogant a$$. Or, often times the one with low self esteem will actually drive away the date , because they "just can't believe you'd want to be with them."...so they make it a self-fulfilling prophecy. Nope, the person you want to be with is someone with self esteem, a person who does not need you, knows he or she does not need you, but CHOOSES to be with you bc of what you both bring to each other.

Low self esteem. It would be easier working throw all there problems with them as long as they are not abusive due to the lack of esteem. They would probably be more understanding and loving in a relationship.

I would go out with neither. I like a guy who has a healthy self-esteem. That means that man I would date isn't cocky and he also isn't always complaining about not being good enough. As far as treating others, I wouldn't date a guy who disrespects others no matter what his self-esteem is like. I like a guy who shows consideration to other people. How a person treats others isn't always linked to self-esteem.
