In Mesopotamia, the oldest evidence of beer is believed to be a 4,000-year-old Sumerian tablet depicting people drinking a beverage through reed straws from a communal bowl.[citation needed], A 3900-year-old Sumerian poem honoring Ninkasi, the patron goddess of brewing, contains the oldest surviving beer recipe, describing the production of beer from barley via bread.

As others mentioned, beer has been brewed since long before there were brand names. And beer has been evolving, so some of the early brews were a lot different than those we have today. Here are some firsts in brewing history. Bass Pale Ale was the first English brew that wasn't dark. Carlsberg was the first beer fermented from a single yeast culture (started from a single cell; before Carlsberg, all beer was brewed from a yeast culture containing many species). Spaten was the first to use artificial refrigeration to lager beer (I believe their engineer invented refrigeration). Hops came into widespread use as a beer flavoring around the 16th century. Before then, many different flavorings were used. The first real beer companies were 7th century European monasteries.

Beer was brewed in the Middle East and China over 9,000 years ago. Dogfish Head makes a beer based on chemical tests done on potter from China during that era called Chateau Jiahu. It is widely believed that beer was the primary catalyst that moved us from being hunter gatherers to farmers and herders.

As you can see your question would be impossible to answer.
I've had the DFH Chateau, it isn't bad. Hints of fruit and honey. Drank a whole bottle (22oz) by my self. Would drink a second at the same time... Have a bottle of it a home right now actually. Been saving it.
