My ps3 gets highly warm after about 90 mins of play. It is usually at the back top corner of the console, when I touch it's not usually very hot but hot. I don't have a warranty, so is this normal.
PS: sometimes( once in a while)the games get stuck and I have to restart it (mostly demos) is that normal too.

It's normal for the PS3 to get very warm. Just make sure that you keep the PS3 in a open area and not in a enclosed area.

And the back top corner is the area that get the warmest because all of the hot air is pushed out by the fan, so it's going to be very warm back in that area.

Yes, the heat is normal. It's normally at a mildly high temperature. If necessary, the fan will speed up. It's hardly ever at the highest level.

I know about the demos freezing. I haven't had that happen before.

Honestly, dont worry about it, any game system will eventually get warm or hot after its been in use for a long time,

I would reccoment not going over 3 hours of play without giving it a break. after all... you dont wanna break your system.
