Yeah sure any chemical vice is going to have an effect. Alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, cocaine, whatever. And until you're around 21 your brain and body are still developing, so your kind of doubly vulnerable to the effects of this stuff. Which I think is a pretty good argument to keep the legal age of imbibery to 18 at least, regardless of what you're talking about. And you should practice moderation in any case. Just do yourself a favor and don't shove the stuff down your throat nonstop for days on end. That's the main thing. And yeah a lot of people do exactly that.

Thirty years of ANYTHING has an affect on your brain. How much does marijuana have? It depends on the person, what exactly their smoking, how MUCH they're smoking and how OFTEN they smoke. In other words, it utterly and completely varies depending on the case.

Well...it does screw up your motivation, and you can get addicted...I been there done that, I smoked for 30 years, been in rehab twice. Yes it is less destructive than other drugs, particularly drinking but it is not harmless...As with all things, moderation is the key

dude u got to stop smoking marijuana.an hell yea it would mess up ur brain. u will have major brain damaged in ur head an u will not remember the most easiest words that a kindergraden would know. an plus u are going to kill ur heart much more faster than a person with out smoking anything in their whole life.and people that care bout u will be really upset an they want u to live a happy healthy life.

DRUGS ARE BAD DRUGS ARE BAD DRUGS ARE BAD!!!

okay, now that we got the other responses out of the way, yeah he's okay. Apparently most think it rots away your brainstem or something. It's harder on the lungs than cigarettes, so that may produce some problems, but his brain is fine.

Don't believe everything you see on commercials or read in your 6th grade health book

Assuming the one man used for 30 years and thinks it hasn't affected his brain. It does and obviously it has.

I don't know. I have not been smoking it for 30 years. I would never subject myself or my family to drugs.

Incorrect. Many of my aunts and uncles smoked, but my relatives and parents that didn't are noticeably different from them in terms of memory, sharpness, taste, etc. My smoker aunts/uncles complain constantly about their poor memory and feeling "dull" and they attribute it to the 10 years or so of pot smoking.
