For young Christians you might consider Pilgrims Progress. Even more mature Christians like that book.

The book you choose should be more tailored to the person receiving the gift. i.e new Christian, mature Christian, non- Christian, Mother, Father, Teen, Elderly, with young children, with teenagers, Charismatic, Baptist etc.
You can find plenty of books to fit the need for most of the above at a good Christian Book Store.

What topic do you have in mind? Prophecy? Fiction?....A book I love is called "Come Away My Beloved" by Frances J. Roberts. You would have to order it I imagine. You might find it on the Internet. John Hagee's prophecy books are great to. I love bible prophecy.
Go to the Christian book store and tell them what topic you have in mind and they may be able to help you.
