Whatever it is, it's too high .. if they weren't making pots of money they wouldn't be 'cold calling' people and subjecting their staff to loads of verbal abuse ...

Make sure you are ex-directory and sign up to the Telephone Preference Service (tps) .. if anyone cold calls you, get their details and ask them to agree to remove your phone number from their database .. if they refuse to agree, ask them for an address so you can invoice them for the time you have just spent advising them that they are making an illegal phone call ..

Alternatively, for repeat offenders (i.e. double glazing companies), agree appointments to see their 'Sales Representative' when you know you will be out :-)
