Supposedly, we're God's favorite animals. He even created us in his own image! So....why are tardigrades more blessed than we are? I mean, those things can live from -200 degrees Celsius to 151 degrees Celsius, take 1,000 times the radiation of other animals, survive in a vacuum like space, six times the pressure found in the deepest ocean trench, and go almost ten years without water.

I'd take those skills over "free will" any day.

I'm amused by how many people assume I believe in gods. Silly people.

If you don't know what they are, USE GOOGLE. You're on the internet, for Jabingu's sake.

How do you know they don't have immortal spirits? Did you ask them?

There are exceptions to this theory - feel free to blow all the holes in it you wish ... but I think a god would like every living thing he created, equally ... and because all these entities s/he liked are different - he balanced all their traits - one of the major variables being length of life ...

... perhaps because canines are wonderful in so many different ways - the only choice to balance this fact is to make their lives very short - at least in terms humans perceive ...

... turtles lead relatively boring lives - they don't give or recieve much affection, as perceived by humans, but their life span is nearly 20X longer than a dog's ...

... the tardigrada lead active lives - but are brutalized by natural and man made factors - but they're given the capacity to widthstand the harshest conditions to balance things ...

Ok - I'll admit - I don't completely believe that myself - MY REAL POINT is - it's beyond all of us to guess what a god's favorite ANYThing is - but if we are going to bat it around for the fun of it - think outside the box so-to-speak - exercise your imagination while balancing common-sense.

Have fun.

from Wiki-
Tardigrades have been known to withstand the following extremes while in this state:

* Temperature — tardigrades can survive being heated for a few minutes to 151°C or being chilled for days at -200°C, or for a few minutes at -272°C. (1° warmer than absolute zero).[7]
* Radiation — as shown by Raul M. May from the University of Paris, tardigrades can withstand 5,700 grays or 570,000 rads of x-ray radiation. (Ten to twenty grays or 1,000-2,000 rads could be fatal to a human).
* Pressure — they can withstand the extremely low pressure of a vacuum and also very high pressures, many times greater than atmospheric pressure. It has recently been proven that they can survive in the vacuum of space. Recent research has notched up another feat of endurability; apparently they can withstand 6,000 atmospheres pressure, which is nearly six times the pressure of water in the deepest ocean trench. [8]
* Dehydration - tardigrades have been shown to survive nearly one decade in a dry state.

Well, it would be nice if you could tell me what the hell a tardigrade is?
I don't know. Maybe God just created us and then thought, "Screw humans! So what if they look like me? I'm gonna bless those tardigrades!"

Seriously, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Do you really want to live such a life? God has blessed us with His mercy and grace. Can your tardigrade say that? Well, he can't really say anything, can he?

He made us special. Like you said "In His Image" He wanted someone he could talk to. I don't think an "animal" is something he can commune with. lol. Well hope I helped.

First, I am not an animal. I am a child of God.
I have an immortal spirit which will live on after my death: It is in this way that I am created in God's image.
Through God's covenant, I am an adopted child of The Father.

Now, what's this gobbldygook about tardigrades ?

You start from the assumption God exists.

It' actually humans who created God in their image as they invented religion and the concept of a single deity.

The question therefore is irrelevant.
