I am going to be moving to Waikoloa in March. I am hoping to work in the medical field in an office setting or hospital. I heard that it is difficult to find a job there. Also that the salaries are low. Does anyone know if this is true.

You will have no trouble finding a job, but you will have trouble finding affordable housing--it is a real crisis right now on the Kona coast. Salaries are lower than on the mainland for the most part. Many locals work two jobs to make ends meet. Not to dissuade you, but it's a hard place to move to on a lower-end salary.

Can not comment directly on availability of work in the medical field on Hawaii, but do not just limit yourself to Kona. Look in Waimea / Kamuela too. There is a hospital there along with a number of medical offices. See if you can get into the classified ads on the paper linked below.

if you're an RN, a better deal would be to work as a travelling RN, make more money and get a feel for what life truely is like on an expensive rock with great whether and warm blue ocean. good luck. oh yeah, and anna's right.
