my kitchen scales are very old and are the old iron type. I use ounce weights to measure out ingredients but recently i've lost a few. does anyone know of anywhere where i could buy varying ounce weights to replace them? thanks

You might search on e-Bay, or check antique dealers.
Another possibility is lab suppliers.

If you have one single ounce weight, you could get some lead (or similar) shot from a fishing shop. Weigh the shot into plastic coin bags in multiples of 2, then 4, then 8 ounces. Label each bag with its weight in ounces.

If you are in the UK, three OLD pennies weighed 1 ounce.

If you mean for your personal use and not meat "for sale" you can get a simple kitchen scale or one called a "portion scale" nearly anywhere, probably Bed Bath n Beyond. One "legal for trade" is available on Ebay but expect to pay $700+.
