it seems we have come a very long way scientifically..considering what we knew lets say in the 1900's to current times...in the past more things were contributed to religion and less towards the scientific side..but as we progress scientifically do u think that one day religion will die out...? I know without some form of structured religion the world would probably go crazy but it seems things are changing at such a rapid pace that maybe in the future most things will b able to b proved scientifically and ppl will rely less on faith...what is your opinon....?

It hasn't happened after almost two thousand years of doctrine divisions, holy wars, institutional fraud, moral scandals, false prophets.
Humanity has unleashed the power of the atom, reached the Moon, cloned life, mapped the DNA sequence, we can preserve life, destroy life, create life, we have created machines to do our work and computers that mimic human brains.
Logically, religion should have died out and ceased to exist a long time ago. If it hasn't happened by now, I doubt it ever will.

Do you think that maybe this will happen to Atheism instead? In the USA Christianity makes up 78% of the population. Judaism makes not 0.23% but 2.5% of the US population Interesting you said "30 percent and 40 percent among younger Americans don't attend church. Your pixie religion won't last much longer." Doesn't this mean that 60-70% of young Americans DO attend church? Making them the majority. This also means that, out of the 30-40% that don't, it is divided between atheism, other religious beliefs such as Judaism and Islam which attend temple and mosque respectively, not to mention those that are Christians that just don't belong to a particular church. Global statistics actually show that Christianity is actually increasing in percentage In short, Atheism is an extreme minority and this is not going to change any time soon. I noticed that you included no source for your "information". This indicates that you have nothing to back up your claims. And it is supposed to be atheists who are obsessed with facts LMAO.

It depends if we can keep the weapons of mass destruction away from the religious for long enough.

If we can, then yes, one day religion will change and no longer be such a problem for us.

I am afraid that some faithful people will get their hands on Nukes first though, and we will be blasted back to the stone age, and forget about education and learning, which will propegate religious belief.

QUESTION: Will religion ever die out and cease to exist in the future..? It seems we have come a very long way....

ANSWER: We haven't come far enough yet. But, fear not; be of good cheer: we once rode around in horse and buggies and who would have dreamed we'd one day have freeways stretching from one end of the country to the other? Be patient. I have a dream, that one day we will all be judged by the quality of our character and the content of our lives and not by the religion of our choice, or the dogma of our beliefs! Yea! Yea! Tho I sleep in the shadow of the valley of the dolls, I shall follow no religious zealot!

Even if science could explain "everything" whatever that all entails, there will still be people who need religion plus don't forget that religion is a multi-billion dollar industry that employs a lot of folks.

If you are talking about Evolution, which I believe you are alluding to, "science" has to be taken on as much faith as religion and/or spirituality does... and sometimes even more. Go to s8int.com if you are interested

I certainly won't be in your life time..so..Can you learn to be tolerant and accept people of all faiths? If not, how far would you go to achieve your goal of zero religion? Is conformity that important to you?

Completely....not a chance unless humans evolve a little more in a direction not so prone to fantasy.

Will its influence shrink a lot? Yep.

It will still exist, but it will be rare. By this time everyone will agree on calling them cults.

If man is ever to live peacefully, then religion has to die out.
