Did he have the right to do so? Did he know that it would cause problems to this day that threaten World Peace?

Why did one small tribe of Judeans have so so much favour with God?

What about other Religions, did he honor any promises to them.

If Jews are the only Chosen Ones. Should we all convert to make YHWE Happy....He is the God of the Jews. Christians and Moslems after all....It would make things so much easier.

We would only need to make war with Hindus and Buddhist.

My Conclusion is that the Bible is a very Dangerous Book when it falls into the Wrong hands and Fundamentalist Readers are a threat to World Peace.

IF there is a God, how are we to know that He promised anything to the Jews?

Because they say so? Maybe they're lying. Maybe they're schizophrenic. Or maybe they're both.

Because the Bible says so? How do we know that the Bible was inspired by God? And, even if it was, how do we know that we're reading accurate translations?

God always does the right thing. The Jews didn't fulfill their end of the bargain originally. They were supposed to kill all the enemies that were in the land when they originally were given the Promised Land. Barbaric, maybe, but it was God's command, and if they'd followed it to the letter, the turmoil wouldn't have continued to this day.

The promises of salvation to all mankind, both Jews and Gentiles, proceeded from His covenant with the Jews--Jesus was of the Jewish line.

It is God's plan that everyone accept the gift of grace and salvation offered through Jesus and become Christians. Moslems, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, all mankind. If everyone would only accept Christ it would, as you say, "make things so much easier."

I also believe that God is keeping His promise to "bless those that bless" and "curse those that curse" Israel, so nations, organizations, and even individuals such take heed and be careful to stand with Israel and not against them in making treaties and offering solutions for peace. This will be one way to identify the Anti-Christ; he will offer a solution for peace in the Middle East that will seem to work for a time (3 1/2 years) before he reveals his true intent and identity and breaks his agreement with Israel and attacks them.
Read Revelation and Daniel for more insight on this.

The Jews are God's chosen people because He is God and He favors whom He will. Thank God for His mercy in offering salvation to all, both Jews and Gentiles, and allowing us to be "grafted" into His family.

Depends if you are a Hittite or not.

I am guessing that the locals thought that it was a bit rough.

Having my captive parents slaughtered before my eyes and seeing God's chosen people caste lots for my virgin sister, would tend to sour my attitude towards his decision making skills and sense of morality, just before I was castrated.

Edit --
Dawns answer deserves the 10 pts, heh, if the Jews actually followed God's will the genocide would have been complete and there wouldn't be any Muslims bothering them today.....

See how dangerous religion really is?

If you believe in the god of the Jews, or in the god of the Jews and the Christians, or
in the god of the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims, you can't conceive of that god doing the wrong thing.

It doesn't matter whether it is right or wrong. The fact is - Israel is a nation. Too late now to change that. I get a kick out of how God works. Prophecy rolls along bucking what man considers is fair and just. Just sit back and watch. More is coming.

It's YHWH* not YHWE. but okay.

I think it's just a struggle that the Jews will have to fight for, until peace is restored in Israel and most who had to leave will come back.

G-d puts us through many tests in life, and see how the Jews have prevailed and conquered though all of time.

There is a Talmudic story that G-d went to each religion and offered it and they said no they were happy, then he went to the Jews who were the least liked among all people and they accepted. The JEWS chose G-d, that is why they are called the chosen ones. So G-d gave them Israel in return.

I don't question God's right to do anything. He is Almighty God, creator of all things visible and invisible. He owns it all and can dispose of it as he so desires.

He did not cause problems. When we covet our neighbour's goods and feel we can take it and call it by another name, despite their covenent right to it, we ask for His wrath.

He happens to love them. Don't you love anyone for whom you'll do anything?

God did not create religion, man did. Therefore, He does not honour religion(s), He honours all of us who accept Him as God; who respect His divinity. Hence the reason, Pentecostals, Anglicans, Baptists, Catholics, all have equal access to God. He said, if we receive His Son, Jesus, He will receive us; but if we deny His Son Jesus, He also will deny us.

And so, being called Christian does not matter to God, only that we truly love His Son and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. Many are going by the name Christian but they are liars and He knows which of us are.

We do not need to make war with anyone. I am personally friendly with converted Muslims and Hindus.

If the chosen people were offered Israel, but not the Arabian oil fields, it would not look good for wisdom and knowlege would it?

We cannot question G_d! He owns the "rights" to all His creation, including us!

God is imaginary, but now that you mention it I can see why the Neo-Zionists would, along with their Jesus seeking allies, promote that idea and drum up the religion thing as much as they have.

No, Gods can't promise anything to anybody. It is time to face the adult world.
