No, there is nothing wrong with falling in love with a girl. If that is what you are into, then why fight it? Don't ever let people tell you that it isn't natural.
Don't worry about your girl thinking that you'll go back to your ex. Sometimes people will get scared that some people are only dating someone of the same sex as part of a fad instead of looking for an actual relationship. Just reassure her that you love her & that you have no plans on leaving her any time soon.

Ok, Not stupid to fall in love! It's not a choice, it just happens! If she can't trust you in the begining, it's going to make the whole thing really hard. Encorage her to realise that you are not like the other person who dumped her (coz that's why she's worried about you doing it!). Other than that, there's nothing you can do! Sorry!
