A minor female is presumed by law to have the same rights to her child as does an adult unless a court rules otherwise. She cannot be forced to have an abortion, place the child for adoption or any way relinquish her parental rights.

If the minor chooses to, she can request assistance from the state's division of family or social services.

An organization established to assist pregnant minors with all issues (legal, medical, etc.)concerning their welfare and that of their child is Birthright.

No, the mom cannot force the daughter to have an abortion. You and your fiance should start trying to find a place to live. Your fiance shouldn't be living with her mom if her mom is behaving like that. It's likely mom is in shock and not sure how to handle it, she isn't ready to see her little girl turn into an adult (we all handle stress differently).

This sounds crazy, but maybe you should try to talk to mom. Tell mom how you plan to make this work. Tell her how much this baby means to you and how you vow to support your fiance through everything. Regardless of how you see it, her mom will be part of your life forever, so you might want to try to smooth things a little. Yes, it was irresponsible that you got her pregnant, but show that you're responsible in raising this child.

Babies are expensive, so if you don't already have a good job, I recommend you try to find one asap. If your fiance hasn't finished high school, you might want to consider correspondence classes if her pregnancy will interrupt her schooling. Seriously, a high school diploma is very important and if you want what is best for your child, then she needs to have one.

You might want to have a serious talk with your fiance and plan out your futures. Do you have enough money to rent a place together? Could she live with you?

Good luck with the mom. Try to understand that she's very stressed right now and is handling her stress in the wrong way. Things will work out, just keep supporting your fiance and good luck with the future.

If the girl does not want an abortion then there is no legal way for the mother to force the abortion. However, she can do other things such as coerce her into it. It depends on how well the girl can stand up to the mother. This is one of those cases where an anti-abortion group is helpful. Contact them and let them know the situation and they can help keep the mother from forcing an abortion.

NO!! no person would desire to ever stress every physique to do something like that. it extremely is as much as the guy donning the baby and not her mom! My cousin had a infant at 17 and her mom made her giver her up. She has had maximum of issues attempting ot manage it and not has been waiting to. Her mom threatened her with submitting statuatory rape fees on the guy(whom she later married and had 2 babies with). Abortion isn't the respond and not would be! There are different avenues to flow down. There are properties for pregnant babies who've been kicked out or on their very own. examine into it the place this female lives.

Nope, her mom cannot force her to get an abortion. In a lot of states at age 17 you are legally an adult. Her mother may threaten to disown her, etc but she will change her mind once the baby comes. (probably) I'm sorry you have to go through such a difficult time. Kudos to you though for being willing to take care of the baby.

Even though her mom is her legal guardian until she is 18, ur girlfriend is old enough to have sex in the eyes of the law, therefore, old enough to be a mother, nothing that her mom says or does can make ur girlfriend have an abortion, she is legally old enough to leave home also, her mom cannot stop her becoming a mother, well done for being an adult and taking responsibility for your unborn child, not many youngsters out there like that these days

I dont believe in abortions first of all..and not only that if the mother tries to force her to have an abortion..then this could hurt the mother of the child psychologically...its totally not the mothers choice..it is the mothers daughter but not the mothers baby and not the mothers body!

Nobody can force anyone to get an abortion at any age! They can threaten them but they can't make them. She has options. She does not have to live there anymore, if her mother continues this. There are lots of things she can do.

No, her mom can not force her to have an abortion, and once she has the baby, she will legally be considered an adult!

She cannot force her its illegal to force someone at any age to get an abortion. She can fuss and say that she has to get it but when it comes down to it she cant make her. She can try but can force her to. If it gets physical call the law or find a diffrent place to live.
