My sister has mentioned she had a plan. It's very detailed but when confronted she says that I just push all the wrong buttons and she doesn't mean it.
She's mentioned it four times.
(I've waited five months and it's just getting worse)
My family thinks it just sisters fighting. She lives with me and my family (husband and two small children) and I told her that she has to see a professional or move out.
My family still just sees it as sisters fighting.

it is VERY important that you contact a ywca or police department because when it is a detailed plan that means she is very serious about doing it so it is very important that she seeks help otherwise you might not have a sister soon id on't have an uncle because of the exact same thing no one would listen..... good luck i hope that it turns out better for you then it did for me

first of all, Suicide is not a threat, it comes from a want for something. If she won't see a professional MAKE her see someone, she lives in your home, you have the right to push that. Think of your Children, what if G-d forbid she carries it out and one of them find her, or if they were to get hurt in the progress?? As far as your family goes, it is your house and you have the right to make the rules. If she threatens it again "Just cause you pushed her buttons" Check her into a clinic or call your local police and explain to them that your worried she may harm herself, what local options have you got. Be adament, I would rather have you plan to patch things up later in life than have to plan her funeral now!! Be strong!!

There are two kinds of suicides. The attention seeking and the actual.
If your sister has been talking about this for 5 months she may be just seeking attention, however, never take suicide lightly. She needs help.
Heaven forbid she actual attempts it! What if one of your kids find her, dead or still alive? It would affect them for the rest of there lives.
The answer your looking for is: Do Something!
Get the rest of your family involved, MAKE them listen!
She's reaching out for help, and she's reaching for YOU.

If your sister continues to act this way she really needs to go get help tell her you plan to take her to the mall on whatever day but take her to a hospital for people with suicidal thoughts that you can find on the internet or talk to her doctor about it and he can recommend somewhere.

Take it seriously. I dont think you should have waited 5 months. Call the cops and tell them what she told you. They will come and get her and get her the help she needs. Anyone who mentions that will be taken seriously. She might hate you for whatever reason, but in the end, she will thank you.

Call 800-273-8255, the number for the Suicide Hotline. If you sister is serious or not you should talk to someone that is qualified and has resources to help. The hotline in anonymous so it is totally safe :)
