I don't think it is likely that she will get over the "finding out" that you are serving time.
If you want to show her that you are normal then you should avoid grandiose gestures. Tell her you understand why she might be upset, and explain why you held back telling her about her current situation. Rather than surprise her, why not say you are interested in visiting her town, and if it would be possible, you would like to meet her for a coffee/dinner/lunch while you are there.
I think the element of surprise will upset her, and create a unpleasant situation for both of you. Make it unforgettable by being an unforgettably polite gentleman. Consider her feelings first, acknowledge that she will want to meet you in public first (this relates that you are concerned for her comfort and well being), and above all be polite.
Good Luck!

Paint a big yellow "N" on your chest, and paint a red circle around it, with the rest of your torso blue. You can rip open your shirt when she answers the door and be all like, "Hey! I'm NORMALMAN" kinda like superman, but different.
I think this will be a great ice breaker and she will fall into your arms, overcome with passion for your normalcy.

The best way to show her that you're normal is to NOT show up unexpected or uninvited - ever.
In fact, forcing yourself to be a continued presence in her life if she has indicated that she no longer wants to have contact with you is a sure sign that you're not normal. So if she is so upset that she is asking you to not contact her any longer via the computer, then you for sure do not want to show up at her home, or job, or wherever.
Everyone has boundaries - those boundaries are different for each of us. It is important to respect other's boundaries. Normal people respect other people's boundaries.

Please my friend, don't do that.
I understand that your feelings are probably hurt, since your contact is upset. But how long have you known her? Why did you not divulge this information sooner?
Think about it from her point of view. Now, keep in mind, she is a FEMALE.
What was the nature of your crime or offense?
You know, women are scared and intimidated sometimes by men who have hurt other people. Think about this for a minute. Think about it carefully and deeply.
What if you were a young female, and you found out that someone you trusted is in jail. This is someone in whom you have confided.
What if she has been hurt by someone before? Have you considered that? She may have been assaulted or attacked by someone in her life- she may be VERY frightened!!!!!
Please please- please brother, see things from her point of view. Be kind. Be gentle. Be nice.
You probably are a decent fellow- but you don't need to prove it to anyone. Know within your own heart who you are. Know thyself, as the ancient Greeks said.

I am upset that you have not divulged this information to me. In my opinion there is nothing like a surprise visit from a prison biatch to spice up a lonely evening..

I would not make it a surprise visit. You'll only freak her out if you show up unannounced. Although it certainly would be "unforgettable" - it just won't make you any friends.
