NO!! No one should ever force anyone to do something like that. It is up to the person carrying the child and not her mother! My cousin had a baby at 17 and her mother made her giver her up. She has had so many problems trying ot deal with it and never has been able to. Her mother threatened her with filing statuatory rape charges on the guy(whom she later married and had 2 children with). Abortion is not the answer and never will be! There are other avenues to go down. There are houses for pregnant teens who have been kicked out or on their own. Check into it where this girl lives.

sigh...here we go. No the daughter can do as she pleases. But I would like to think that an abortion is the wrong way to go. There is always a regret but the least she can do is give the baby up for adoption. If the teen wants the keep it, thats great there are many young woman in the world who do great. Question is, where is the father?

It is not a wise thing to do. It is the girls body whom is almost of age and is able to make decisions for herself. She was able to have sex so therefore it is her decision. I know I would not want to be the parent responsible for the deep depression that would follow the abortion. Why would any parent want their child to kill their grandchild. Forcing is not the answer here... maybe some mother daughter counseling. Girls get pregnant everyday and they have to struggle just liek the rest of us... it is not the mothers place... she should help where she can but make her daughter be a mother...

absolutely not. abortion is a very emotional thing to live with and being forced into it would be completely awful. the mother can discuss the issues with the daughter, and should definitly have the daughter consult a professional on the matter. also consider adoption.
but to force? absolutely not.

You can force your daughter to get an abortion as long as she under the legal age where you live, I am going to as human the legal age is 21. Keep in mind, this is your daughter problem. She sounds completely irresponsible for the letting it get this far. While you want to force her daughter to get an abortion? can you not talk to her like an adult?

no, no one can force a "medical procedure" on any one!! That girl needs to call her local health or human service department and get help ASAP!! Abortion is wrong in every way and should never be forced on people, this isn't China with its 1 child laws!

No. Because of privacy laws, in most cases, the 17 year old doesnt even have to tell her that she is pregnant. Also, the doctor cannot tell the mother.

No more than she can force her daughter to abstain from sex. The mother can however make it difficult for the daughter if the daughter needs her help.
Hopefully they can work together.

I forgot what happened, a few years ago there was a case of how two parents kidnapped their daughter because she was pregnant with a black father.
Anyways... they wanted her to get an abortion.
