our evil greenhouse gases, carbon footprint, and other emissions that have been proven to contribute to the warming of precious planet Earth? This is human-caused global warming at it's most elemental and literal sense, and we really need to filter this out, just like the fossil fuel power plants. It's only fair.
Point source polution control is humanity's only chance of survival. Only you can prevent our doom.

I remember an article a few years ago that stated that Brazil was a major international polluter because of its agricultural/beef production... seems Cows emit lots of METHANE.. But alas that was before we defined Carbon Dioxide as a harmful pollutant because of global warming.
Regardless, seriously you are a bit mistaken Carbon Dioxide is the major greenhouse gas... not Methane.. Further, the carbon footprint of methane production by digestion is NEUTRAL ...
You (or the cows) eat plants that that CO2 from the atmosphere.. digest it into CH4 and emit it .. where it contributes to smog... but ultimately ends up as CO2 again.... so it is Carbon Neutral.. for global warming issues..
But alas.. if we could harness the energy of the transformation from CH4 to CO2 we could reduce the burning of carbon based fuels that do contribute to global warming.. and reduce a major source of pollutants that contribute to smog (and indoor air polution) also..
So..make sure your "high tech cork" has a way to store it so you can light it with a match to offset electricity use for lights and reduce your carbon footprint!

I know you are attempting to be facetious; however, the earth has the power to purify itself. Basically this is done by getting rid of the cancer that is causing it problems. It turns itself against the polluting host until it is gone, then long periods are spent developing a new host. True, man has the ability to reason, but his reasoning is selfish and flawed. There is something out there that can adapt that ability to reason, so---don't get too smug.
