Serious response and a question: I did that years ago. I did that, attended church for years and years, marched against abortion, voted Republican, took communion every week at least twice a week for years, raised my kids in a Christian church, watched one daughter get married in a Christian church, put my kids thru a private Christian school.......BUT....at some point I started thinking for myself, questioning, and researching, and looking for other answers and finding them. I started to see the intolerance and bigotry that I was believing in. I started to experience the deception I had fallen for, the self-deception I had bought and sold to others. So, I quit. I renounced this mythological, superstitious, fantasy-land belief in God and now I'm living happily ever after.
But since I once upon a time "confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." does that mean once saved, always saved?

The road to God is not instant. There are many paths and we all take a different one. None is right, and none is wrong. What guides me down the path may not guide you at all.. Ask God to make it crystal clear for you.. He does hear you..
The 1st Prayer that God hears from you is the Sinners Prayer that goes something like this But in your own words. and mean it with all of your heart.
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
This is the only prayer that God will 1st listen to. Or pray it in your own words..
God is NOT: Catholic, or Baptist or Methodist. He doesn`t care what club you belong to. He cares about your essence (your inner person).. He love you and wants to have a personal relationship with YOU.. He doesn`t need you to be perfect. He never asked for perfection.. He just asks that you love him and believe Jesus lived and died to cover your sins.. That is it, in a nutshell..
Peace.

this was something weird for me... i was baptized as a boy because i was moved by the fear of hell to become saved... though i didn't understand the man of salvation, Jesus Christ. it wasn't unti i was a teen that i found peace in Him.
that said, i cannot tell you for sure wether or not i met Jesus as a boy or as a teen. though honestly it doesn't matter... God knows. and that which matters is whom do i serve today.
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. acts 16:31

I got saved along time ago. I know that we have to go through Jesus to get to God. I took Jesus into my heart along time ago, but I would like to be saved again for my own reasons. I read the Bible and believe in God and the son of God, Jesus. Jesus died for our sins and for that I am very grateful. He saved us from our own sins, If we continue to believe in him and trust, and have faith in him. He will show us the way. Just have FAITH. God Bless

Look at the verse you quoted, and it contains the answer, "in your heart". It happens deep within you.
You received a person, Jesus Christ, who is eternal life, as the sacrificial lamb of God for your sins. Continue reading gospel of John, and praying for the work of His Spirit within. Jesus said if you believe in me, you will never die (your spirit will not be separated from God's). Death is separation.
Physical death is separation of your soul from your body. Spiritual death is separation of your soul/spirit from God's. You have Jesus within through the Holy Spirit. Praise God!!!
Love God and fellow man in spirit and truth.

By following a sincere, honest and enformed conscience. Deliberate ignorance in these matters are grounds for losing salvation.

Well, when I finally stopped fighting it I was in church. The Lord is good, and we can accept Him anywhere, any time. Praise Jesus.

You get saved by paying off and obeying those who tell you that they have the way to salvation. You must believe them blindly and think with your emotions.
