That saying pertains to snow that someone or animal has peed on. You don't want to eat that. It's not healthy. And it's gross. However, pollens from trees may also make the snow yellow. I saw that a few months ago when we had a weird snow storm in September. I still wouldn't eat it though, could be poisonous.
