Me and my bf has started having sex recently. We are using condoms, but I want to get birth control so we will have double protection. What steps will I need to take to get some? And how could I get some for an affordable price?

I'm 20 years old, so that means i can go to a health center without mother(maybe)?
And I've acturally dated other guys who wanted to do it and i've declined them.

A full service Planned Parenthood can provide all services related to routine gynecological care. You need to make an appointment for a check-up. They will give you a pap smear and often times test you for STD's. Once you are in the clear, they will give you pretty much any type of birth control that you want. They base their fees totally on income. You can receive care and birth control anywhere from free to almost full price. As long as you keep getting your yearly check-ups, they will continue to supply you with birth control. It wouldn't hurt for your boyfriend to be tested for STD's as well. That way you know that you are completely safe when you no longer use condoms. Planned Parenthood can test him as well. Good luck.

Go to planned parenthood--they charge according to what you can afford. County Health Services will do the same. You can go to any dr. you want without your parents' permission. There are generic birth control pills that only cost $2-3 a month. Planned parenthood might even give them to you free.
You are to be applauded because most young people your age are stupid. They think they won't get caught, the condom won't break, etc. and they base their future on a possibility. You are absolutely right to want 2 forms of bc.
Bravo!!!
P.S. Some pills are not effective if you are taking antibiotics. Watch out for that.

That's what it has come all the way down to. Consider that many core tuition women ( 12 , thirteen) don't bear in mind oral intercourse as intercourse. Also bear in mind that over part have no idea what STD stands for . Also, bear in mind that the majority don't have any concept while they're fertile. And many are 3 months pregnant earlier than it dawns on them some thing approximately their frame has converted. I do not consider the universities must be pressured with any further duties than it already has to convey. At a few factor, academics must be allowed to instruct and not anything extra. Now it looks they'll be tracking start manipulate dispersal.

Contact Planned Parenthood. They'll give you a full exam and set you up with low-cost birth control.
Good for you for being responsible. Just remember that birth control does not protect against STD's.

planned parenthood has a lot of options for payment and also has financial help programs as well for people who otherwise cant afford birth control. you will need to call your local PP and set up for an apt. saying you want to start bc. they will have you see an OBGY. and get a pap test. you are required to have one once a year through PP. then if it comes back healthy and there are no issues to you being on bc then they will give you a years supply.

You will need to make a Dr.'s appointement with a local Gyn. Tell him you would like to be on Birthcontrol. Usually Dr.'s office will issue out samples to you. Glad to hear you are being responsible!
