I live on the East coast and I really want to go skiing over the Holidays. I will be driving and I'm willing to go as far as 12 hours. I am going with a friend and we are both intermediate to expert. I was thinking Attitash or Killington. Any other ideas where to go???

Well...everything in the Poconos, New York, and New England should just about be open. The Poconos are getting a good dump of snow right now.

Killington will be as busy as sin, as will Okemo, Stratton, and Mt. Snow. Same for Gore, Hunter, and Whiteface.

Since you are willing to drive a great distance, I'd try one of the more northern VT resorts. Jay Peak or Snugglers Notch should be right up your alley if you are intermediate to advanced skiers.

However, if you are really more into partying than skiing, then I would suggest you stay closer to Killington, Mt. Snow or Stratton.

Over the Holidays, given a little colder weather to make snow, all major resorts should be at or near full operating capacity. Killington will be very crowded. Attitash maybe not quite so much but it will certainly be busy. Attitash is a great choice, nice area.

Not much in Maryland, I can tell you that.. Ski Liberty is right past the MD/PA border in Emmittsburg.

Deeper into PA, towards Scranton has some good slopes. West Virginia does as well.

I hear Maine is nice too - I guess it all depends on where you're at now.

killington is great, try waterville or, if you really want a drive, i love bretton woods. its not as big as the others, but then again, neither are the lift lines.
