The price of our sins was death, and God loved us so much that he sacrificed His own Son for our salvation. Also, God Jesus didn't die on the cross just for the Christians sins, he died to pay the price of every ones sins. Christians are people who have already opened their hear to Jesus Christ and have accepted salvation. All you have to do is believe in Him, and your sins will be washed away and you shall be born again.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son to die on the cross and pay for the price of our sins. And whoever believes in Him shall not perish put have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it."

It's complicated.
In Genesis, there was a covenant made with Abraham. When a covenant is broken, the cost is blood. So, in the beginning, God established the covenant and only God walked through the fire (symbolizing that He wasn't going to require the other person to kill themselves by breaking covenant). Since God is perfect, He never broke His side of the covenant. Mankind did... several times.
When Christ died, Christ was void of sin. He never broke any of the laws that went along with the covenant (the 10 Commandments clearly defined the requirements, but they were there since the beginning). Since Jesus was sacrificed (sent by God to fulfill the old law and die without sin), Jesus met all the requirements of the law and superceded them. In the end, His sacrifice created a new covenant. This covenant not only made it so mankine would have direct access to the father, but also set a place where God could dwell within us. Through faith, we have access to all things in heaven and are no longer bound by the spirits of the land and its people.

God did not "kill" Jesus. Jesus laid down His life. The reason His blood atones for our sins is because Jesus is God. Only God can forgive sins.
In the Old Testament days, the blood of an animal was spilled to "cover" the sins of the people. But animals had to be killed, unfortunately, over and over again. The one and final, and perfect, sacrifice was the unblemished lamb, Jesus Christ, whose blood once and for all not only covers our sins, but eliminates them.
For those who believe, that is. His resurrection is the promise to us all, that those who believe will also live again after death, in His kingdom.

Think of it like getting a parking voucher redeemed at a department store: you go in, park your car for $10 an hour and you can take your ticket and, when you buy something, you can get the counter clerk to stamp it, or redeem it, for you. Then when you drive your car out of the parking lot, the gate just swings open and you drive right on thru. Jesus dying for our sins works just the same way. "Sin" is the parking ticket we get in life, just by being born. The "parking lot" is like our entire lifetime. Getting the ticket redeemed by the counter clerk, who is really like God Himself, or in some cases it might be Satan tempting you to buy more on credit than you can afford, which is HIS way of keeping us on a string, using extra credit to get our souls...and when we max out, well, that's when old Satan comes to repossess the soul....but that's another story. Back to your question...
We get the ticket stamped and redeemed by Jesus and when we drive the car, which is like the body, when we drive it out of the lot we go straight to heaven. On the other hand, depending on the TYPE of car we have, it might stall or breakdown along the way, in which case we might have to return to the parking lot with a tow truck and get it repaired. This is what is known as "reinCARnation."

God did not plan on killing Jesus. He planned on allowing sinners to kill Him, so that we could live. Jesus died to pay for our sins, or to give us another chance to make it to Heaven. How many men do you know would say, "Hey,kill my son, so you can live." NOt too many, I don't think so. You have to respect the significance. Jesus was killed because of all the right and good things that He did, not because He did something wrong.I'm not saying I can direct you to the answer you want to hear, but I can let you know that every bit of pain He felt, was because of our evil souls. Just knowing that He loves us should be enough. :)

Uh.............
GOD did not kill His SON.
Uh............
We done it, folks, all by ourselves with no help. No single person or group did it - HUMANITY took Christ's life.
God knew it would come to this.
Christ knew it would come to this.
But They followed through with the Redemption.
If They hadn't, guess what? We'd all be destined for Hell because NONE of us are worthy of Heaven, Eternal Life, or have any acceptable Excuses to squeeze us thru them Pearly Gates.
And the Resurrection was for ALL of Mankind - all who come to accept Jesus' sacrifice for our individual sins. And once that is understood, then a change of heart takes place - the Holy Spirit is in the person's heart, and they are henseforth called CHRISTIAN.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!

To forgive sins, there had to be a blood offering.
To take away ALL the sins of ALL the world, there had to be one PERFECT sacrifice...Jesus Christ.
And as Jesus is God....He cannot die in His true Godly form, so he rose again.....which confirmed that He IS God and not just another person.....like Buddah, Muhammed or Joseph Smith.....so people would know which was the TRUE faith.

By dying Jesus spared you and me from having to pay the price for our own sins.
Would you rather take the awful punishment for your own sins or would you rather let Jesus bear the punishment for you?

Jesus blood paid for our sins.
In the old testament, animal sacrifice, i.e. sheep, lambs, etc., thier blood was required for cleansing of sin.
Jesus was the final and last sacrifice required for sin.
Resurrecting Jesus made Him able to conquer Death and Hell. Jesus now has the keys to Death and Hell.
His blood redeems those who accept Him as thier personal Savior.

1 Peter 1:18-20 (New International Version)
18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
