There are actually people on this planet that believe diseases are not caused by Eve eating an apple. Really.

Those people wondered if God even actually had a role in the existence of diseases and wondered if they could do something to cure the disease.

So, they invented a cure. Or became a surgeon.

Curing a disease can only be done by first denying God's so called plan (or simply not believing in a God of course). Or denying that God has a role in creating diseases. Or denying that sin has anything to do with the existence of diseases. Yet, I always see people thanking God for a healed spouse or child or whatever.

Shouldn't we be thanking the denial of God instead?

Absolutely, truth be told, it's really a sin to rely on knowledge rather than faith...

I believe some refer to "knowledge" as "worldly things" also.

But boy, when the cancer comes on strong, "worldly things" like chemotherapy sure do come in handy.

Denying God gives people disease is not the same as denying God (as you attempt to link, rather poorly here). Curing a disease is not denying God tell that the the 76% percent of physicians that believe in God according the the University of Chicago study.

"Curing a disease can only be done by first denying God's so called plan"......

Really? How sad that you completely ignore the vast intricacy, complexity and sheer MIRACLE of the human body itself, not to mention that of the world and the greater universe....I guess you, like so many others, think such exquisite variety and perfection came from nothing at all.

"every good and perfect gift is from the Father above"....that includes all healing, all medical gifts and abilities....and all the intelligence of every doctor everywhere. Deny it if you like...that doesn't reduce it's truth.

I personally have never met anyone who believes disease is caused by any element of jewish mythology, forget about "eve". Your questions are invariably rather rude and adolescent; people are entitled to their own concept of spirituality and as far as medicine in concerned most great contributions have been made by christians, jews, hindus - people from all sorts of faiths. If you want to promote this archaic 1950's glorification of science & logic as a kind of substitute religion,be my guest, but I fail to see why you cannot positively push your own views instead of attacking others. In any event, linking hardcore atheism with scientific advancement is simply an old Soviet propaganda ploy from the Kruschev era. The next time you're at the library you might want to glance through some old Reader' Digest magazines from the era. Look for articles with titles like "Why Ivan Reads better Than Johnny". Everybody wanted their kid to be a scientist in those days. Or at least that's what the media of the era was always carping about.

How about thanking God for the intellect and science and talent that doctors have for finding cures to diseases that occur in nature naturally? How about not being so general in your assumptions that you recognize there are many scientists and doctors and common average people of faith that believe in science AND God? You're quite mistaken in your assumption that all doctors and scientists automatically deny the existance of God. Yes, we can actually believe in God and be rational enough to have faith in science too.

In a way you are actually right. If people believe that it was God's plan for diseases, then they are denying God by curing them.

Yesterday on our local news, the daughter of my so long ago former Bishop, apologized for all pain caused by the affairs her father had with church members and for the children he sexually abused. She has just given a deposition for one of his victims in a civil suit brought against the Bishop. His daughter also mentioned that the State Bureau is considering bringing purgery charges against him because he claimed to only have sex with his wife and 1 other woman (the woman named in the civil suit); however, it has been determined by DNA testing that the good Bishop lied as he actually fathered one of his brother's children (yes, formerly known as the Bishop's nephew).

The good Bishop is now dying of cancer. His daughter stated flatly "My father is a cancer." I don't think she was talking about his zodiac sign.

The interview ended with her saying "Sometimes the church needs to stop all this defending lies and just admit they were wrong."

Out of the mouth of babes! (The Bishop's babe at that.)
