Here is the awesome movie trailer for Expelled:
http://www.expelledthemovie.com/home.php
What do you think of the trailer?
Atheists are always asking for evidence...while evidence abounds.
One could drown dehydrated in crystal clear, filtered, water complaining that there is absolutely nothing to drink...
-
Meanwhile, scientists are persecuted for even suggesting the possibility that God created the universe and us. They lose their jobs, their tenure, are ostracized, proclaimed mentally ill, and slandered to no end...
-
(My recent “similar” question was deleted for a violation that said it wasn’t a question. And a BIG THANKS to whoever reported me – giving me an excuse to share this awesome movie trailer again! And my apologies for my contacts, who gave such excellent answers to my question.)
Here are more than enough questions:
1) Is the movie Expelled a Jewish version of Lee Strobel’s “Case For a Creator”?
2) What do you think of the movie trailer?
3) Atheists: Why do *some* of you gouge your eyes out so that you can’t see the sun...and then claim there is no visible proof for the existence of the sun?
4) Atheists: Would you be willing to see this movie? Read “Case For a Creator” by Lee Strobel? Read “Evidence That Demands a Verdict” by Josh McDowell? Read “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis? That is, for YOURSELF?

1. I've watched the trailer, and I didn't see anything that was specifically Jewish other than the fact that maybe there were Jewish actors involved somewhere.
2. I liked it, I posted it on my blog weeks ago.
3. I think the atheists will claim they don't do that. Whats interesting to me is that WHEN we provide links to the evidence that supports intelligent design, they claim the site is biased just because it examines the claims of evolutionists AND provides evidence of intelligent design... yet if we claim a site biased because it ONLY focuses on evolution, they say we are lying. Like you said, it amounts to gouging out (or at least closing) you eyes, and then claiming there is nothing to see.
4. I doubt many of them will, I however HAVE taken a college level biology course, so who is closed minded?

1) Is the movie Expelled a Jewish version of Lee Strobel’s “Case For a Creator”?
No, it's a film to promote intelligent design.
2) What do you think of the movie trailer?
Didn't watch it, didn't need to. Ben Stein has unfortunately lost touch with reality lately.
3) Atheists: Why do *some* of you gouge your eyes out so that you can’t see the sun...and then claim there is no visible proof for the existence of the sun?
..... I'm sorry, this doesn't even deserve an answer. There is no evidence for creation. All existence can be explained by the interactions of particles according to natural laws and probabilities.
4) Atheists: Would you be willing to see this movie?
I'd be willing to watch it for free. Afterwards I would explain everything that was wrong with it from a scientific standpoint.
Read “Case For a Creator” by Lee Strobel? Read “Evidence That Demands a Verdict” by Josh McDowell? Read “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis? That is, for YOURSELF?
Strobel is an idiot. No clue who McDowell is. Lewis is awesome, but he's a Platonist apologist. He should have stuck to fiction.

Sara, specific, the translation is illiteration and hence an erroneous comprehension of the deeper meanings of the verses and text cloth of the Jewish scripture is interpreted from the text cloth of the OT. lots of the idioms of the previous Aramaic have been misunderstood and while translated into the Latin and Greek, have been lost to the succeeding generations. although, translations from the previous Aramaic into the sought after-day Hebrew are plenty smoother and the idioms and "slang" of the Aramaic interprets easily into Hebrew besides as Yiddish (eu/American Hebrew as adversarial to Asian or cutting-part Aramaic Hebrew). Jews look very unusually at Christians, extremely the extra literal Christians while they make claims approximately what the OT speaks of because of the fact they have a completely diverse set of interpretations and impressions on the subject of the very comparable passages. Even extremely-conservative Jews have a thoroughly diverse interpretation of books like Genesis, Moses and so on and so on. and that they effortlessly concede that the creation tale replaced into in simple terms that a narrative, an allegory on the subject of the origins of the Hebrew human beings no longer the ori9gins of the universe. Just because Ben Stein is the narrator/host doesn't make this a Jewish anything. Much of this movie has already been discredited, including by one of the religious scientists who the movie claims has had to keep her religious opinions to herself in order to work. None of the attacks on religious scientists have been validated, except in cases where the scientists can't perform their jobs because they deny the science they are supposed to be working with.
Case For a Creator is one-sided, with none of the interviewees being scientists, and most of them being associated with the Discovery Institute. Thus, there is no reason to read it other than to see what ID people believe. It has nothing that shows that ID is correct or that evolution is incorrect.
BTW, even if I had no eyes, there'd still be evidence of the sun I could perceive, and there'd still be people who could see the sun who could provide more evidence to me.

1) They seem to have similar themes.
2) I think it's too long, deliberately uses misleading phrases to discredit evolution ('mud and water', 'cosmic mistake', 'Darwinism'), and is essentially just a collection of logical fallacies designed to appeal to those who have chosen to believe the conclusion before they hear the argument.
3) Why do you make such frequent references to evidence that you somehow can't produce?
4) No. I watched the trailer, which was presumably designed to convince me to see the film, and it only confirmed my suspicions. If someone had a valid argument for a creator, they wouldn't feel the need to bury it in so much bullshit. The fact that the creators either don't realise or don't care that their arguments are flawed suggests that they really aren't worth my time.

Evidence doesn't abound. Your interpretation of natural occurrences abounds.
I see rainbows all the time, if I was faithful and believed in Leprechauns, I would interpret them as proof that Leprechauns exist, because after all, they are the ones who created rainbows to indicate where the gold is.
This sounds silly, but uses the exact same logic that you rely on by stating that the existence of matter, the universe, earth and humanity proves the existence of a creator.
I have read mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, and thought it made all the sense in the world when I was a believer. I now interpret his logic differently.

Why do you say it's a "jewish" version? I didn't see any mention of Judaism. Ben Stein is an apostate Jew who cozies up to right-wing evangelicals because he hates himself as a Jew. I've actually met the man and he made me want to go take a shower afterwards. Please leave the Jews out of your food fight with the atheists. Jews have no problems with atheists; it's Christians who do.

Just maybe, if skeptics will watch, just maybe they will be able to see the locks in their minds.
But most will block it-their minds are made up. No amount of evidence, or lack of evidence will get through to them.
This may be good.

You got us.
99% of scientists in the world are all part of a devious plot to falsify their research, in an attempt to prove that Christianity is false.
Yep, I know it sounds crazy, but you got us.
All of the scientific disciplines are in this together. Astronomy, physics, biology, paleontology, they've all agreed to make up stories that, although entirely copacetic, are totally made up.
The reason they do this, is because scientists are out to GET YOU. They can't stand your religion. And they want to hurt god.
That makes a lot of ******* sense doesn't it?
Oh, that's right... It doesn't.
Take off your tinfoil hat, douchebag.
