do you think that severe illness such as anurisms, epilepsy, a.v.m., mentally retarded, and all the others are a result of generational curses (passed down through the generations) or iniquity..maybe the curse upon all creation due to the sin that entered in the Garden of Eden? What do you think? Could this be possible? If not, why do these things happen? Even birth defects in babies? How do you explain these awful things?

My question is pertaining more to birth defects and things that happen even when people do their best to take care of their bodies. What do you think these things are caused from? Cancer (even if no one smoked and exercised and eat well) Is it not sometimes inherited?

Remember in the bible where the people were asking Jesus about a man that was born blind, "Was it his mother or his father that sinned, causing this man to be born blind?" And Jesus answered, "Neither, but this was done that the Glory of God might be revealed in Him."

No. the Bible even says that a man is judged by his own sins, and that a son is not responsible for the sins of his father.
Have you heard of or seen the quadriplegic preacher? He's really amazing. Check him out on stumble.com. Watch and listen and you will see what Jesus means when He says, "Neither, but this was done that the Glory of God might be revealed in Him."

It's possible. Awful things in the world happen because of sin--God created the world perfectly, which is what is translated as "good" in Genesis 1. Only after man and woman sinned, did things in the world begin to die, diseases and sickness developed. It's all the result of sin. God never wanted it that way. But the world is built on scientific and spiritual laws. Actions have consequences. The consequences of sin have been devestating, to put it mildly. But it is man who is guilty, not God.

curses? no... i do think that all humans are imperfect and live in an imperfect world due to what adam and eve and satan the devil did.
Others face untimely death because of ignorance. They do not recognize symptoms and do not know what practical steps to take to prevent sickness. Knowledge helps to prevent unnecessary suffering. It is noteworthy that literate mothers lose fewer children to sickness than do illiterate ones. Yes, ignorance can be fatal.
Negligence is another cause of illness. For example, many get sick because they allow insects to crawl over food before it is eaten or because the ones preparing the food do not wash their hands beforehand. Sleeping without a mosquito net in malaria-infected regions is also dangerous.* In matters of health, it is often true that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
An unwise life-style has caused millions to get sick and die prematurely. Drunkenness, sexual immorality, misuse of drugs, and use of tobacco have ruined the health of many. If a person indulges in these vices and then falls sick, is it because someone put a spell on him or a spirit attacked him? No. He is to blame for his sickness. Blaming the spirits would be a refusal to accept responsibility for an unwise life-style.
Of course, some things we cannot control. For example, we could be exposed to sickness-causing microbes or to pollution. This is what happened to Owmadji. Her mother did not know what was causing the diarrhea. Her children are not sick as often as other children because she keeps her house and yard clean and always washes her hands before preparing food. But all children get sick once in a while. Some 25 different organic infections can cause diarrhea. Chances are, no one will ever know which one caused Owmadji's problem.
i think that over all.. yes we have caused our own problems.. polution gives us health problems therefore.. we make ourselves sick.
most of these problems deformitys and such are because of the things that us humans do to ourselves.

No, I think we have totally misinterpreted the whole "generational curse" scriptures. The things are a result of our sins such as destruction of our environment (lack of stewardship) etc.

Definitely evil (familiar) spirits being passed down from generation to generation. Epilepsy is an evil spirit called the deaf and dumb spirit and once it is cast out the epilepsy goes also.

Of course it is the result of original sin. None of that was present before.
