Maybe, just depends.
If the 800 mA is a nominal working output rating, then yes, but it may run warm.
If the 800 mA output rating is an absolute maximum output rating, then you may be pushing it a bit and it could overheat over time. If you are using for short periods, then perhaps not a problem. But if left running continuously for long periods of time, then the possibility of overheating may exist.
An adapter with higher rating would obviously be under less stress and run cooler.

Yes it is ok to use as long as the voltage is correct and the current is close to the value. Technically if you check the voltage and current coming out of the adapter with a multimeter you will be surprised how different it is from the value printed on the label.

Yes. But the batteries should of the same brand. Adapters are different for different brands of batteries. Higher current rating of the adapter would not pose any problem.

Absolutely, the voltage is correct and the device will only draw the current (mA) it needs. The only caveat is that needs it be the correct type of voltage, AC or DC.
