why do other countries think they need to get involved in figuring out how to remedy the problem? In other words, why shouldn't these biggest polluters figure out how to fix it, on their own, without being pigeonholed into UN and EU mandates?

(I do understand that ALL world countries reap the consequences of global warming. However, this does not mean that ALL countries have a legitimate argument about the costs that will be paid by these biggest polluters.)

It is quite clear that global warming is a cyclical event (every 1500 years). Therefore, man is not a contributor to global warming. It would be arrogant to think that man has had much, if any, effect on this event or could reverse or stop global warming.

Look to the sun and time as the contributors.

Boy do I believe you! I additionally agree that persons ought to get previous the Bush factor. i became in no way a extensive fan of his in any respect yet i'm fairly against what Obama has been attempting to do. This apology factor is particularly infuriating. i think of ALL international locations have contributed to the alleged worldwide warming factor, if one among those factor even exists. I nevertheless can not wrap my head around it. I stay in an area that became as quickly as lined via glaciers. immediately, i became working air con. documents going back to the early 1800s for my are coach temperatures as intense, if not bigger than immediately. In those cases, it became till now the indoors combustion engines that are supposedly to blame for a great deal of this worldwide warming factor. I do agree that all of us, interior the US and everywhere on earth ought to strengthen what we are doing to look after mom earth, yet i'm not on board to think of that we've brought about this and specially that we interior the US are any extra to blame than the different united states of america. i'm proud to be American and don't sense we ought to continuously ask for forgiveness for something in any respect. i'm sick of it and embarrassed because of the fact of it.

Many other countries add to global warming by cutting down rain forest that absorb CO2
also what other countries besides those 4 are as big as them.
Russia.

they are big contributors because they are big countries.

if you split the US by states we would be some of the smallest contributors.

you must be another UK idiot

Thanks but other countries are also part of the world and share the same atmosphere

The EU let the US have its famous "technology approach" and "intensity target"... and no results, just good words.

Indeed the US is far behind regarding the technology.

We just want the US to have an engagement (quantified) of what they bring,... after that it´s each country choice to see how they achieve their goal

JAPAN has decided NOT to use the European approach of cap and trade (btw developed by the US) and really failed its target so far.

So you are free to do how you want but with respect to the targets.

And that is exactly the spirit of the Kyoto Protocol

Nickel - Sadly, when I was forced in late January early February 2004, by a car that hated winter more than me (It didn't even want to start when it was 32 degrees F outside.) So I got the best car I could get (My husband didn't want me to get the smallest model available due to safety reasons.) a Kia Spectra. I loved that little Saturn. I told the dealership to ship the car south.

Because the countries you mention are smart enough to realize that a poorly supported THEORY is not a good enough reason to destroy your economy and kill millions of people.

While it's fair to say that the largest contributors should be leading the way in solving the problem (and to be fair, if you examine per capita emissions, China and India are nowhere near the top - USA is), all contries have contributed and all countries need to reduce emissions.

If the USA is unwilling to solve the problem, other countries can put pressure the US by reducing their own emissions. Eventually the US will follow suit.

In other words, if the USA is not willing to be a leader, other countries can at least force the US to be a follower.

They want control over us through the UN.
Only Americans want whats best for America.
The rest want us to submit to their best interests.
AGW whether true or false will be used as a tool to wrest control over our ability to decide for ourselves.
