You don't indicate what level (BSW, MSW and or if you are licensed clinical social worker). You don't indicate how much post degree service you have and in what contexts. So your best bets are the local papers, the NASW job board, the major social job boards:

It will take awhile to find a job like that. Check Idealist.com for ideas on who is hiring and what the jobs are like. Take enough money for a few months, and be prepared to work Starbucks or the like while you are looking.

Isn't there just one or two Government agencies that offer social work positions? If you and/or your roomates are qualified for those positions, why don't YOU know where to apply. And don't you think you should wait to move until you have job(s)?

You can check on nytimes.com. One good thing is that many companies wait until after the holidays to fire and hire people, so if there are going to be openings, that's probably when they will be.

ew people from new york hate jersey people...good luck.

here's a tip: don't call manhattan "new york city", if its not obvious enough already that you're not from new york, this will give it away. it's either "manhattan" or just "the city"
