Let's say that , hypothetically speaking, someone was on the Delayed entry program for the military, but did not quite come clean about some things in the past. If that person told the truth after already having a contract and being on DEP, and it made him inelligible of joining, would that count as fraudulent enlistment with all of those consequences, or would it not be fraudulent enlistment untill after one already did recruit training, and all of that?

"Is DEP technically already enlisted?" - No. While you are on DEP you are NOT enlisted.

NO--DEP is not enlisted and if you don't come clean with your recruiter now (some things are waiverable) you will face the consequences later...

I would suggest from experience you don't even go into the military--that means simply don't show up on your report date...if you have any questions call 1-877-447-4487 and check out this site for some alternative jobs in you state:

a good style of folk answering your question do no longer look to understand which you quite desire a waiver to connect with toddlers while you're a civilian yet once you're already interior the defense force you're good to pass in case you have extra toddlers. the reason being as a results of the fact while you're interior the deptthe defense force would not understand in case you would be nicely surely worth the possibility yet once you're already energetic accountability they paid on your practise already and could no longer get rid of you except you're inflicting difficulty. to answer your question, the excellent undertaking on your husband to do is call his recruiter and tell him what is going on. if your husband became interior the army DEP he could be good to pass for the reason which you in basic terms have one baby (no waiver is needed for 2 or much less toddlers) and in case you had 2 toddlers already he could desire an in-DEP waiver for the 0.33 baby. The Air rigidity is extra strict with dependents, so he desires to ask if he will desire a waiver or if he remains good to pass. If he does desire a waiver this is going to maximum possibly be on the discretion of the waiver approving authority and that they'd pass the two way. None individuals provides you you a sturdy answer in the event that they'll say definite or no.

No you are technically in DEP. Better start telling the truth now if you want any chance of NOT getting busted. You wait and you will be caught and getting shipped home from boot camp will make you look really stupid and probably not necessary if you tell your recruiter everything NOW. Believe me we have heard everything. You can probably get a waiver for whatever you are hiding anyway.

Not enlisted. You will have more opportunities to "come clean" in boot camp, they call it the moment of truth. If you were to talk to your recruiter, and come clean now, he/she can tell you if your skeletons in your closet are disqualifying or not, and best case scenario, may be able to put together some waivers for you to allow you to continue on in your career. I would go that road, talk to the recruiter. Most all things these days are waiverable.

Good luck.

your best bet is to go back and look at the paperwork you already signed. I did the program and while DEP is not getting paid for being in the military, you DID sign a contract. there are waivable offenses and we definitely need more soldiers (or airman or marines) so dont just not show up. that is pretty cowardly.

You are not enlisted until they get you to the MEPS station prior to shipping your buttocs off to bootcamp and they swear you in after final screening.

If you haven't gone to basic you're safe. Just don't show up if it bothers you that much, you wont get in trouble.
