Basically, i know someone who sighs all the time. Like as if they are always doing so much that they need to sigh in relief constantly. It's tremendously annoying.

maybe they are particularly anxious and need to take deep breaths constantly. or maybe it's just a bad habit they are unaware of.

If the person has respiratory problems (like asthma), that might be a reason.

If the person is doing it in order to get your attention, that could be another.

Or if the person is breathing a sigh of "relief" if they were scared about something.

Sometimes people sigh frequently when they're annoyed, or when they're attempting to control their anger by releasing a "breath" of sorts.

Other times, people sigh out of nervousness because of a quickened heartbeat.

Either way, I would ask the person "Why do you sigh so much?" in a kind way as to not to defend them. ESPECIALLY if the constant sighing annoys you. :)

Probably a habit. Sighing is a tension relieving action. Likely they unconsciously sigh. It does feel good sometimes.

Maybe s/he is going throught a rough time in life, instead of feel anoyance (which is kinda selfish) you should see if there's something you can do to help, like listen to this person

Ask them why they are doing it. People usually do that when they are unhappy, depressed, grieving, etc.
