The New World Translation of Isaiah 9:6 says "For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will be upon his shoulder. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." This is clearly a prophecy about Jesus. So, in this part of Isaiah, the Mighty God is JESUS.
Now turn to Isaiah 10: 20-21 (again from the NWT) - "And it will certainly occur in that day that those remaining over of Israel and those who have escaped of the house of Jacob will never again support themselves upon the one striking them, and will support themselves upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel in trueness. A mere remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Mighty God. Who is the Mighty God referred to in this passage? Why, JEHOVAH.
If Jesus is not Jehovah, how can the clear contradiction of these two passages be explained? However, if Jesus is Jehovah, there is no contradiction.
There are other examples in Isaiah worth checking out. JW's, compare these passages and ask yourself which is referring to Jehovah and which is referring to Jesus:
Isaiah 42: 8 - "I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else whall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images." Revelation 5:13 - "And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: 'To the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.'" To whom will Jehovah give his glory? In Isaiah he says to no one else. In Revelation the glory is to be given to the Lamb, Jesus.
Isaiah 44:6 - "This is what Jehovah has said, the King of Israel and the Repurchaser of him, Jehovah of armies, 'I am the first and I am the last, and beside me ther is no God." Now turn to Revelation 1:17 - "And he laid his right hand upon me and said; 'Do not be fearful. I am the First and the Last, and the living one; and I became dead, but look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.'" Who is the First and the Last of Isaiah, and who is the First and the Last of Revelation? Why, Jehovah and Jesus!
Isaiah 45: 21,22 - "Is it not I, Jehovah, besides whom there is no other God: a righteous God and a Saviour, there being none excepting me? Turn to me and be saved, all you [at the] ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else." Now look at Matthew 1: 20, 21 - "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife home, for that which has been begotten in her is by holy spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you must call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." Who is there that is another Saviour besides Jehovah God, who saves his people from their sins? Why, Jesus!
Isaiah 54:5 - "For your grand Maker is your husbandly owner, Jehovah of armies being his name... For Jehovah called you as if you were a wife left entirely and hurt in spirit." Here, Jehovah is described as a husband. Then, in 2 Corinthians 11:2 - "For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy, for I personally promised you in marriage to one husband that I might present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ." Who is the husband Paul speaks of? Why, Christ Jesus.
There is no contradiction in these passages when you realise that Jesus is Jehovah. Believe the Bible.

The verse in question reads from the NIV: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Careful readers will note that the prophecy in Isaiah says that the Messiah "will be called" by such names as Mighty God, Eternal Father. If that were in reference to Jehovah, he would have already been known as such when the prophecy was written.
Secondly, Trinitarians are faced with explaining the obvious absurdity that the Son of God is also his own Father. Seeing that even the most ardent Trinitarian will confess that there is a distinction between the Father and the Son of their supposed triune godhead.
Thirdly, a prince is a son of a king. Jehovah is the King, not a prince.
Jesus is a Mighty God by virtue of the fact that Jehovah appoints him to that high office. That is in fact what the prophecy is foretelling, namely that the Messiah will inherit the throne of David and rule God's kingdom in place of God. Jesus becomes the Eternal Father of mankind by virtue of the fact that he brings the dead back to life and grants them everlasting life.
The Bible explains how our original father, Adam, brought death upon the whole race. Jesus is called the Last Adam because he replaces Adam as mankind's father. He will become our Eternal Father when he abolishes death and imparts everlasting life to Adam's offspring.
Question: Who is the Mighty God referred to in this passage?
Isa 10:20 "nakah sha`an Y@hovah"
"that smote them; but shall stay upon Jehovah"
The hebrew says Yehwah rather then Yeshua.

Jehovah's Witnesses have never claimed that Jesus is not God. What we have claimed, and what the Bible teaches, is that Jesus is not God Almighty.
I am the son of my father. My father is human. Therefore, I am human. But I am not my father.
Likewise, the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of his Father. His Father is God. Therefore, Jesus is God, i.e., a spirit being. But he is not his Father.
In other words, Jesus is divine, the Son of Almighty God Jehovah.
But they are not the same, any more than I am my own father.
Also, as some have pointed out, the titles in Isaiah 9:6, 7 are a prophecy of what was future in Isaiah's day.
So at that point, Jesus was not even Mighty God or Eternal Father. Those were titles he "will be" called.
But Jehovah has always been God Almighty, and a Father from the indefinite past.
Don't just take verses out of their context. That leads to error and confusion.

Interesting because God was called Mighty God or Mighty One in Deuteronomy 10:17, Joshua 22:22 (two times), Nehemiah 9:32, Job 36:5, Psalm 24:8 (two times), Psalm 50:1, Psalm 89:8, Psalm 93:4, Psalm 132:2 and 5, Psalm 147:5, Isaiah 1:24, Isaiah 10:21, Isaiah 10:34, Isaiah 49:26, Isaiah 60:16 and Zepheniah 3:17 . In the New testament God was called Mighty God (Mighty One) in Luke 1:49, Luke 22:69 and Revelation 18:8. To see how Jesus can be limited to Mighty God and the Father is limited to Almighty God is a non-biblical doctrine made out by men. The Jehovah's Witnesses believe in a BIG GOD and an insignificant tiny little god, this is polytheism at its worst. Our early Church Fathers made out the Creeds a long time ago just to sort out the messes stirred up by Arius and his followers. In the Creed there is strictly One God, not two, and definitely not three gods. Merrrrry Chrrrrristmas to you ALL! :-)

Look up, in your own dictionary, the two words;
MIGHTY
ALMIGHTY
Then come and ask a question.
EDIT: The title “Eternal Father” refers to the Messianic King’s power and authority to give humans the prospect of eternal life on earth. (John 11:25, 26) The legacy of our first parent, Adam, was death. Jesus, the last Adam, “became a life-giving spirit.” (1Â Corinthians 15:22, 45; Romans 5:12, 18) Just as Jesus, the Eternal Father, will live forever, so obedient mankind will enjoy the benefits of his fatherhood eternally. (Romans 6:9.)

I'm not a YW but Jesus gave us countless examples that He and The Father are two different persons, as a 12 year old Jesus said "...wist ye not I must be about my Fathers business" Luke 2:41; He also told us to pray to God in His name; Jesus is also sat at the Father's right, Stephen saw that when he was being stoned; It was God who raised Jesus Gal 1:1; and Jesus among many other things Jesus said in the cross "...Father forgive them, for they know not what they do".
So I don't know where you got the idea that they may be the same person jesus and God.

Jehovah sent his only begotten son Jesus to die for us so that anyone who exercises faith in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. If Jesus was Jehovah, how could he send himself to die? How would he resurrect himself? When Jesus was praying, who was he praying to? If he was "God" himself, why would he need to pray to himself? Jesus is in the image of God, like we are. Jesus was a perfect man though, which is why he is reffered to as a God,the Lord, Messianic King. Jehovah created Jesus way before he was sent to die for us. He is a Lord, but he is not The most High Lord. Jehovah, his father is.( Pslams 83:18) We should try to be Christ-like because Jesus was the perfect example. Jesus did everything on the count of his Father. So, if we're gonna be Christ-like, we have to do everything on behalf of Jehovah,in Jesus's name because through Christ's death, are sins were acquitted.
