I see some people calling other people who have left a certian faith, "Apostate" just because they disagree with the teachings. Is there scriptural basis for such a name? OR Should people stop using this label alltogether?

Crusader: Does it apply to you if you do not believe the faith that you were previously assosciated with? Let's say, that you were a Baptist, and you became a Catholic?

I see a many people questioning the Witness faith, and they are called Apostate. Are you not allowed to question your faith. What if you really are unsure and have good questions?

i am an apostate and heretic in the eyes of the false book known as the bible to the followers of the false christ.the scriptural basis is founded on the presumption that the bible was divinely inspired therefore all other opinion is heretical.now if we look at the actual understanding of ancient hebrew, aramiac and greek translated into modern english for example the confusion goes further.put your bible down and see it for what it is a collection of chosen stories.allegories and metaphors that any gnostic or kabbalist or sufi can re read again and again to get the truth.anyone who judges a person by their leaving a faifth is commitimg an error as didnt a great man say,let him who is without sin cast the first stone.if we could step back in time then you would smell the burning stench of flesh being put to death for having heretical views and heresy is only a greek word for choice.apostay belongs with the rigid hylic false spirit and im glad i wont be on trial tonight.any so called person of god who uses the bible to reinforce their view is and i will turn it on its head an apostate.

The "apostate" is the "adversary" and apostacy is what the liar does. This may be applied to his followers not Christians that disagree with one another for various reasons.
Who follows the Adversary?
Some info -
Apostate and Apostasy as a word do not occur in the KJV or any number of bible translations or versions.
Here is 2Thessalonians 2:3 in the KJV:
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Nowhere is "apostacy" or "apostate" used in the verse.
"Falling away" is used:
Falling away is apostasia from which is derived apostacy and apostate.
Now here is some more info
Perdition
- Strong's Number G684 matches the Greek á¼Ïώλεια (apÅleia).
1) destroying, utter destruction
a) of vessels
2) a perishing, ruin, destruction
a) of money
b) the destruction which consists of eternal misery in hell
no compare this:
Hebrew
1943 hovah ho-vaw' another form for 1942; ruin:--mischief.
1942 havvah hav-vaw' from 1933 (in the sense of eagerly coveting and rushing upon; by implication, of falling); desire; also ruin:--calamity, iniquity, mischief, mischievous (thing), naughtiness, naughty, noisome, perverse thing, substance, very wickedness.
Note: "ruin" and "falling" in the above.
Also there is a place in Genesis that hovah or hoba is used and this means "hiding place" (Gen. 14:15) and does not 2Thessalonians 2:3 say the man of sin will be revealed?
Jeh is a Zorastrian consort, prostitute, or whore. Look it up!
Also in certain dialects means "jinn". A jinn is a devil/demon.
So the mistranslation feeds right into worshipping the son of predition (ruin, destruction).
The true name of God Almighty:

It's guilt tactic and they have no Scriptural basis for doing so. If people disagree with their cult teaching, then they are labeled apostate. I and many others are shining examples....poster children.
Communist countries don't like questions either. If you ask questions..that means you are thinking for yourself, and that is forbidden. That means they are loosing control.
When you take a stick you think is straight and compare it to The Straight Stick (Bible) it's easy to see which one is crooked. You can find apostate descriptions in the verses below.
Deuteronomy 13:1
Jude 1:5
Jude 1:12
Jude 1:16

Yes 'apostates' do exist today.
If someone left the Baptist church for the Presbyterian church-that would not be considered apostate. But if someone left a Christian church for the Unitarian church, or Jehovah"s Witness, or Mormons-that would be an apostate.
These are obvious. I could say more, but I will get -violated.

There is true faith, and there are people who have departed from it (which is what "apostate" means) Very few people follow the true faith. It includes taking YHVH's name, and following His rules. That includes honoring His day, and respecting His wishes in many other areas of choice. Believers followed Torah (the Law) for 300 years after Messiah's death, until the "Christian" faith made obedience to YHVH "illegal".

There is only one faith, and it is the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He done on the cross for all that would have faith in what He did. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day for our justification. If your faith in not in Him then you are lost and going to hell. What the name of your church does not make you apostate It depends on what you believe. Romans 3: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Ephesians 4: 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Apostasy is saying that you believe in God and the Holy Spirit and then at a later time you denounce it all as fake or untrue. Read Hebrews 6:4-6 where it talks about the Holy Spirit and Jesus will not be subject to crucifixion and public shame again.

It is used in Thessalonians and refers to the church falling away from God in the last days. 2 Thess 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
