Indeed, the true test of one's faith that the world will end in sixty months would be how they spend their money now. It would be pointless to get into long term investments. If you're sure the end is so close, then why not live it up? Spend all your savings. Get a credit card with as big a spending limit as you can and then simply enjoy.

If one does not do this, then they can't be that certain that the world will end.

Just because the Mayan calendar ends in December of 2012 doesn't mean that they were predicting the end of the world!
The Mayan calendar is based on celestial events just like the 12 month calendar used in most western societies today.
The long anticipated end to the Mayan calendar simply means that after thousands of years it is time to turn the page.
Maxing out your credit cards will only put you at a distinct disadvantage at the beginning of the new calendar.
Come to think of it, many people will be doing just that. But it's not a very good idea.
Think long term instead! Like the Mayans did!

If indeed the Messiah returns in 2012, then the "close of probation" when peoples destiny is fixed comes in somewhat over a year. To be sure, debts won't matter at some point, but if you are in debt when you cannot buy or sell, then all your stuff goes away. Alternatively, you accept the mark of the beast, and enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season, but it is a short season, and I don't think you will find it very enjoyable.

nobody ever said the world was ending in 2012, just that the calendar was ending and it would be a time of change. we can all see with unrest in the middle east and global warming that things are building to a head...

i put much more stock in what the mayans said. they were astute observers of nature and probably understood a hell of a lot more than we give them credit for.

No. That would be a good way to give yourself away as a gullible mug who believes a load of doomsday rubbish churned out by new-age nutcases. Any person with a glimmer of intelligence can see straight through it.

if we were really going to die from whatever it is you think we are going to die from...why wouldnt it be all over the news? why arent shelters being built? why isnt everyone in a panic?.....global warming is a threat to human exsistance and that is a major concern that is all over teh news and peoples minds, im sure if the people who you are getting your sources from were really that credible the whole world would be concerned not just you and 50 other people.
