The old King James Version, The New Living Translation, and the Amplified Bible. That way I see different translations and can compare and hopefully make more sense of what I'm reading as some of the Bible can be rather difficult. As far as church affiliations when I started going to church and anytime I'm in a new place I try to find a church that will teach the Bible and not personal stories or "traditional beliefs" I want to know the word of God not the word of Pastor so and so. Regardless of denomination, as long as they speak truth I'll go.

In our Independant Baptist church, the "official" Bible is the King James. It is written in the church's constitution. That's the one I use when I teach Sunday School.
More and more of us (including some pastors) have begun to use the New King James. I use mine for home study, and find it a lot easier to understand.
At our Bible study session with another couple. we read from my husband's NIV, my NKJ, and the other couple's KJ. We compare any differences that we find. Minor differences.

I used to like the King James Version a lot until I found out what a poor translation it is. I don't like modern Bibles because their language sounds so modern. If I could get a well-translated Bible that used the Shakespearean English, that's the one I'd go for.

The Interlinear Translation accompanied by the English Standard Version. I am no longer affiliated to any church apart from it being Protestant.
