For me its the peaceful and security it brings and the chance to expand my knowledge and worshipping Allah.
The cons has to be the negative media coverage about Islam. Because really Islam is a peaceful religion and everything you see in the media with bombings here and there are done by waste fundamentalist of which i must add are in every religion.
so yeah what is the best thing about being a muslim?
peace

When I say When I say. . .I am a Muslim, I'm not shouting " down with Christians and Jews." I am whispering "I seek peace," and Islam is the path that I choose. When I say. . . I am a Muslim, I speak of this in humbleness. And confess that sometimes I stumble, and need Allah to be my guide. When I say. . .I am a Muslim, I know this makes me strong. And in those times when I am weak, I pray to Allah for strength to carry on. When I say. . . I am a Muslim, I'm not boasting of success. I'm acknowledging that Allah has rescued me, and I cannot ever repay the debt. When I say. . .I am a Muslim, I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are indeed visible, but Allah forgives because his followers are worth it. When I say. . .I am a Muslim, it does not mean I will never feel pain. I still have my share of heartaches, which is why I invoke Allah's name. When I say. . .I am a Muslim, I do not wish to judge. I have no such authority My duty is to submit to Allah's all-encompassing love.

There are the followings that makes the Muslims are different from other religions.
1. You have a Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.whom in the day of judgement will give you the blessing.
2. Only the Muslims have access to the Holy book ( Alquran) and was granted with the ability to memorise the content of the Alquran. The Alquran was assigned by Allah swt ro give blessing in the day of judgement.
3. Among the many religions only the Muslims are allowed to visit Mecca and Madina and pray inside the grand Mosque.
4. Given fair share of opportunity and respect between Male and Female Muslims. and ETC.

I've now got totally confused as to what is the real Muslims way of thinking because of all the conflicting answers I've seen here and have just posted a question asking for Muslims' honest answer.
Because I see Muslims like you say it's Peace, while others spew Hate!?
If you could help me understand this subject better, I'd be grateful.
Peace.

For me it's the peacefulness and great feeling that Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala loves us enough to give us soooooooo many chances to get out of sin, alhamdullah. Islam is truly a mercy from Allah Subhana WaTa'ala.

Its knowing, believing and having the conviction that Allah the Almighty is able to unveil all the mysteries of life and creations to whomever he wishes, such that the unveiling increases the Muslim's knowledge of the Creator who's Might and Knowledge is Limitless. With the witnessing, comes the true and firm belief.
To Allah SHALL all things and affairs return..

Not having to think for myself. Since I'm a woman, I'll just let some guy make all my decisions for me, and then beat the sh it out of me when I don't listen.
edit: Then why don't you do something about it? Help your fellow muslim girls learn some feminism, and teach your muslim men to not be so stupid.
