Simple Archimedes Principal= "When a body is totally or partially immeresed in a fluid, the water displaced is equal to the weight of the body."
The fish when alive is push upward by the bouyancy of the water & also because of the fish's own uprhrust action but once it dies it rises up for sometimes & siniks down & gives the rise in water. The rise in water being equal to the original wieght of the fish.

dead bodys tend to get bloated causing a bit more of a whats it called displacement of water, but don't worry the other fish will soon eat the body and get rid of that problem. offcourse they will get somewhat larger themselves so maybe you should just fish the body out.

It rained overnight, while you were sleeping.
It clogged the drain off.
The fish pee'd itself prior to popping its clogs.
