This will likely be dealeted, as they have deleted this site at least three times I know of. The pope condemns all non-catholics here.

I think that Pope John Paul the II and the current Pope prove that the pope is fallible. How two people that both claim to hear from the same God and are both infallible can have such different views is a mystery to me. As a Protestant, though, I could care less what the pope thinks about my church or my pastor. If I wanted acceptance from the Catholic Church I would be Catholic. I don't, so I'm not. My final authority is Jesus Christ and He has yet to inform me that I must be Catholic to be saved. He has only told me that I need Him!

Read dealt with a couple of months ago.

The pope is actually on a mission to unite Protestants and Catholics, his statements were calculated to bring wandering Catholics back home.

He is visiting the US next year, and then you will see the true nature of some of his statements unfold.

2008 is gonna be an interesting year for religion.

I am an Atheist so don't believe in any of it, but there is no denying that the actions of believer effects my life.

You watch, 2008 will be a year of unity and healing between Protestants and Catholics and the Christians that spend so much time going after the pope will have changed their minds by 2009.

Think about it, Islam is gaining ground around the world, through increased population and conquest in the 3rd world. Eventually Christians and Catholics are going to be forced to unite, or face a world dominated by Muslims. Its just math.

I think its a good thing we've gotten past the entire 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition, and that no royalty are involved in this religious BS. Good thing Bush is Protestant as well. Otherwise we might hear cries of "burn the heretics" and observe movements to revive the auto de fe. Its all clap trap anyhow, as those with a brain in their head can clearly see. Unfortunately there are too many sans brains who can't see.

PP is right, that story is outdated. The pope is trying to bridge the gap between Protestants and Christians. The Church of England actually considers itself to be Catholic in it's beliefs, but reformed because it does not accept the Pope to be it's spiritual leader.

The Protestants have been blasting the Catholic Church. In America there has been a campaign against the Catholic Church for years. I have been on the receiving end of this in varying degrees.
I had a girl tell me her church uses Goldfish crackers, and grape soda for their communion.
For a group of people that 'Thumps" the Bible and to over look
Jesus saying "Do this in memory of me".
Then to attack other Christians and tell them they aren't Christians enough. Sounds like they are getting a taste of their own stupidity.
What the Pope is 'doing', in my opinion, is taking "fringe" Protestant preachers and challenging them to do more with their faith than to whittle away at the Catholic Church

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html

Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.

While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 819: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#819

With love in Christ.

Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention. Seriously.

I am in between ROTFLMAO and intense concern. In order for the Roman Catholic Church, not the typical Roman Catholic, but the inner workings, to become the Great Whore in the Book of Revelation, they would have to adopt a similar attitude stated in the article you have shown. They will have to be the driving force to persecute other Christians as they did so many years ago.

I wonder when us 'heretics' will be denied our right to a belief in God?

I am a Protestant; which is to say that I think that the Pope is a half-witted rich bloke in a skirt.
I don't read the 'Guardian'; I prefer the 'FT' which is read by people who really control my country.
"Nemo me impunire lacessit" (so far as I recal)l.
While we are on the subject, Boo! to Johnny Towel-Head and his medieval beliefs.

It is the biggest load of rubbish. The catholic faith does not follow the bible as it claims to do. Here is the parts

1. Confession - Jesus is the only person that you need to go to to confess your sins to not some priest.
2. You do not need to say hail marys to be forgiven you need to be saved to get to heaven not by confessing your sin to some priest.
3. If you are saved then you can take communion but the Cathoic church lets anyone take communion whether they are saved or not.
4. Baptism - Baptism should be done when the person is older and has made the decision to follow Christ not when they are babies. To say that unless a child has been baptised they will not get to heaven is complete and utter rubbish.

Do I need to say anymore.

Obviously the POPE does not read his BIBLE and therefore does not know the word of God and therefore should not be in the position of authority he is in.
