My daughter needs to change her very blonde hair brown for a play. Is there a good temporary color that will wash out after a few shampoos without damaging her original hair color?

I was trying to find a spray or a rinse. Something that will wash out. She can't wear a wig, because she will have to brush her hair and have it braided on stage. I plan to ask my hairstylist about this, but I just found out she would need to have brown hair and I thought someone on here might know of something.

If she has blond hair its harder to wash out. You can try a semi permanent which will be best..... No sprays it will be harder to remove. After coloring use a protein packet (deep conditioning) but with semi perm. color it will not damage the hair as much as it would if it was lightner or permanent color because that semi does not enter the cuticle layer of the hair.

If it's just for a couple nights, opt for a spray in color or a rinse. Anything that involves mixing will involve some form of permanency...

Really, if she's blonde I'd suggest not using any type of dye except the spray-in wash-out kind you can get at a beauty supply.

A better option would be an inexpensive wig.

Why not try a wig? You can get cheap ones and cut it to any style you want! Good luck! I also wanted to add, I have really blonde hair too, its almost white, and if I splash kool aid on it on accident or use a dyed shampoo it absorbs the color, its really hard to get dye out of blonde hair it just seems to eat it up. you can get wigs that secure to the head with pins they cant come off, any wig shop would have them.

All colors will damage your hair no matter what, but if you don't want it that damaged go for a brown that is closer to your daughters hair color, the lighter and thinner the dye is, the better for your hair.

Maybe you could talk to a hair dresser. I use the Garnier Nutrisse hair color...it smells so good, and it has a really good conditioning agent...BUT it lasts for about 6 weeks.

It will damage, try the spray dye, if it's only for 1 day.

There is no such thing as a hair color that won't damage your hair.
