Can I have that in writing?
Seriously!
Get a garunteed job ON YOUR CONTRACT!!!!
He/she will try and steer you around it by saying things like "You might have to wait a year before you can go to basic. Go open General and I can get you out next week." or "There are no openings for that AFSC right now, but when you get to basic one will open up. Go open general and when you get into basic they'll put you in that slot."
If you have to wait a year, wait!!!! Tell 'em Sorry, but I want this job if I have to wait, so be it. Then get a job a Starbucks while you wait to pay bills.
Why not go the O route? If I had a degree when I enlisted I would have!
Remember, there's a waiver for everything! Ask the Army Golden Knights member that lost a leg and was able to re-enlist.
Just that you might have to compromise to get it. I don't think that they'll let you be a fighter pilot, but maybe you'll find your niche if you compromise and go CE or SF.

I would ask him what jobs I qualify for based on my test scores and along with that also what jobs is there a critical shortage in. Often times recruiters get pressure to try and channel perspective recruits into those jobs that they are short in filling or have trouble filling first. It can come down to taking a chance and holding out for the type of job you want or going in and taking one of those hard to fill ones. I would opt to hold out for what I wanted and that's what I did in 1972 while Vietnam was winding down. Some of my fellow enlistees did not and I am not sure if they were as happy about it afterwords as I was.

I would ask what you are likely to be doing and what the chances are of getting into Officer Candidate School after enlisting.
Good luck, in any event.

Ask him where you can sign. You won't find a branch of service that takes better care of their enlisted members better than the Airforce can.
